Project Warlock

Bug slayer strikes again

Hey everyone!

We’ve just released a patch that updates Project Warlock to version 1.0.5.9. With it, we try to solve some more specific issues that keep bugging (!?) our community for some time and were pretty hard either to replicate, identify their source, or fix.

List of changes in this patch:

  • The mouse wheel scroll is now bound to the next/previous weapon by default
  • Fixed issue with key bindings on AZERTY keyboards
  • Fixed tentacles bug during the Arctic boss fight
  • Fixed a bug with a missing Continue button after dying

We’re also working to resolve the screen resolution issue when launching the game for the first time. There should be an improvement with this patch but the issue is pretty hardware-specific. We try to cover the most popular configs and appreciate any help you can provide, so please let us know directly if you keep experiencing this bug.

We’re really grateful that you keep playing Project Warlock while we’re preparing to launch the sequel.

Keep on rockin’!

Balance update and Steam Trading Cards

Hey everyone!

We’ve just released a patch that updates Project Warlock to version 1.0.5.1. This build introduces highly requested balance updates to the Tank boss in the Industrial world and the Sphinx boss in Egypt.

Tank boss is probably the one area that is being tweaked the most of all Project Warlock. It already underwent three major changes in the past years, from adjusting its stats to adding enemy spawns around it. We wanted to make it a formidable foe and its previous iteration was the closest to Kuba’s original vision. Today we make an additional adjustment based on your feedback and hope it will make this boss fight a more balanced and fun challenge both to new and returning players.

Project Warlock now also features Steam Trading Cards. You can collect them while playing, craft them into badges, and unlock unique emojis and profile backgrounds as rewards.

Finally, we want you to know that we’re already working on the next update to the game while continuing our work on the sequel.

Thank you for your patience, continuous feedback, and support.

Game update to version 1.0.4.12

Hey everyone!

We’ve just released a patch that updates Project Warlock to version 1.0.4.12. This build introduces some bug fixes requested by our players.

Patch notes:

  • Fixed enemy spawning in the Endless Mode.
  • Options no longer reset after relaunching the game.
  • We removed the preferences menu from the main menu as they didn’t apply changes to the game. Now you can set preferences only in the in-game menu.
  • Fixed the low health character image bug that kept it visible after starting a new game.
  • Progress from previous playthroughs now resets properly once you start a new game.
  • Known issues with unavailable items being displayed in the weapon upgrade station and spell crafting station remain and will be fixed in the next patch.
  • Time-limited Halloween content is no longer available in the game.

You can also revert to pre-Halloween build version 1.0.3.0. To access it, please switch to the Beta channel called “beta_portal - Voluntary experimental versions testing”.

We hope you keep enjoying the game, share your feedback, and recommend us to your friends.

Shining Evil Alien Halloween Blade

The knife has just begun
Revisit the game you know and love, only this time some weapons are inspired by those wielded by heroes and antiheroes of the movies that you love to fear.

Finger on the pulse
Reimagined main theme will ease you into the pumpkin carving mood, and so will the new overlay on the title screen. But... what's that laying on the table when you're entering the game?

Axidents may happen
To see the new weapons you need only to start the game during Halloween Event and pick up the corresponding weapon to see their alternate skins. The technical attributes or ammo used is the same as in the base game. Also - upgrading the firearms will result in the skin being substituted for the new, upgraded model.

Project Warlock Halloween Exclusive Features Set

- New Halloween Dagger skin - Project Mike Kitchen Knife!
- New Halloween Axe skin - Project Johnny Fire Axe!
- New Halloween Shotgun skin - Project Blade Stake Shotgun!
- New Halloween Super Shotgun skin - Project Ash Boomstick!
- New Halloween SMG skin - Project Ripley Pulse Rifle!
- New Halloween-themed Main Theme and main menu!
- New Halloween entering artwork!

Changelog

Fixes
- Fixed changing screen resolution bug
- Fixed incorrectly displayed perk point numbers in the stats screen

Balance
- Balanced the crossbow - now you have to wait 1 second before picking up the bolt you shot
- Changed the way that the Staff charges - the mana is reduced after shot, instead of while charging

Also - if this wasn't clear - the fixes and balance issues are here to stay. But all the Halloween Exclusive Features are limited time only and will not be available after the Halloween Event. So... Get to it!

Well then - Happy Halloween everybody! And don't forget to FOLLOW and WISHLIST Project Warlock II below.

Project Warlock II Kickstarter update

With just 5 days left, the Project Warlock II Kickstarter campaign is entering its final phase. We thought it would be a perfect moment to update you on the progress the backers have made so far. And maybe you'll find something to your liking as well.

In the last 3 weeks, more than 830 backers pledged over €26.000. We would like to thank all the backers for their immense support and love for our game.

This is the last week of the campaign, so if you would like to join us on this wonderful journey head to:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/project-warlock-2/project-warlock-2

Backers who support the game can get the "Backer" role on the Retrovibe Discord channel, Digital Early Access key for Steam, and - depending on the pledge level - can also receive additional items, such as: a boxed version of Project Warlock II.

Right now 175 copies of the physical Project Warlock II found their owners, which means that the €50 Flap Box will contain additional items such as:
- a thicker manual,
- a sticker,
- a 32 page colour artbook,
- a collector’s pin,
- an 8GB Laser Rifle Pendrive

Now the item that's still waiting to be unlocked is the Steel Book that needs 20 extra copies of the Boxed Edition sold. And this is what it looks like from up close.

On top of the unlocked contents of the Box Edition of Project Warlock II there's also a couple of items you can order separately.

The three available are:

- A Project Warlock II themed mousepad

- A Project Warlock II Hardcover Artbook

- A terrifying Shambler

Apart from physical rewards, we invite the most generous backers to help us design various elements of the game, such as spells, guns, monsters, and even a Warlock and a level in the PWII. Those rewards are limited, and some of them are no longer available (shoutout to those who decided to show such an immense amount of support!).

So what can you design in Project Warlock II?

How about one of the spells in the game?

Not really in the mood? Prefer to have a hand in creating something more substantial? How about...

Now let’s talk about stretch goals we’ve set to show our appreciation to all of you, and we decided to add new features to Project Warlock II with each goal.

At €10.000 the Extra Narrative Illustrations reward was unlocked, meaning that you will see additional inter-mission artwork during your playthroughs.

At €20.000 Alternate Weapon Skins for the Warlocks’ arsenal were unlocked. This will give you a chance to swap around weapon skins and make every playthrough feel a little bit different.

At €25.000 you unlocked Enemy Boss Voice Overs, which will add an extra depth of immersion to our game. We already have amazing ideas, and we can’t wait to get to work on the voicelines!

As for further goals we have Photo Mode, Extra Enemy Variants and Arena Mode as well.

We would, once again, like to thank all of the backers for the support, and the trust placed in us. The work on the game is well underway and we hope that you will love the game once it launches. The Kickstarter campaign might be coming to an end, but it’s only the beginning for Project Warlock II.
