In the process of adding support for external views of our own vehicle we discovered that the inside of the bay disappeared as soon as the first bay door closes... should be the last one.

Couple fixes for MuVER cockpit interior (windows lost texture assignment).

Fix for thrust sound continuing when switching from a vehicle to an interior space.

Now setting the TX/TY/TZ for our own vehicle and got rid of local variables to support our own thrust cones.

Moved ground speed calculations and made smoother and more responsive for ground vehicles.

Server side:

Blitz index suggested that the computed fields for Latitude and Longitude on the Colony Territory record was heavy ... determined that those fields were unnecessary and removed.

Fixed erroneous toast for when players don't get an inventory bonus and cut down on items awarded during salvage operations.

Battle Royale ring location has been updated and fixed to Chojeir Military Base.

Fix for colonists murdering one another.

Fix for admin token not in admin token collection when using the admin interface.

Tweaking visibility based on turbidity.

Removed old fading Fleet bank logo.

Updates to the parking system, Easydock website, DIHV commodity buy/sell decisions, and expiration of Player Portal tokens.

Chojeir Military Base and Battle Royale

Biggest news is the Chojeir installation at S 18.221 W 40.781 which will be used for our Battle Royale subgames!


  • BYOV? If you have a vehicle you want to bring (like an E-11) you are welcome to fly there prior to the battle starting
  • Players will get an option to leave the apartment and transport directly to the arena and will be given one of 11 armed A-4 Wanderers fueled and ready to go
  • You can go there anytime to practice
  • If you die you will be returned to the apartment and the death isn't counted against your character or experience
  • You will be presented an option when you land anywhere inside the 50km radius from Chojeir to return to your apartment.

2.2.18.8 Dock Telemetry Update

Biggest change is the dock telemetry. We used to calculate the position once per frame based on an epoch and the orbital parameters. Now the server actually runs these calculations and progresses the orbit and synchronizes the epoch with the client when you log in! This was done to reduce slight precision errors we have seen develop over the last 15 years since the server was started. It also lightens the computational load that the client is responsible for!

Also in this release:

  • Fix for C-2A and A-4 interior texture oddities
  • Enhancements for admin tools (orbital rendezvous testing, dock reposition)
  • Bank rebranding project is complete, signs installed!
  • Fix for TVM to vehicles/PODS on parent vehicles that are "open air" storage
  • Fixed aerospace keycard (flaps UP and flaps DN were flipped)
  • Removed NIDAR instrument from C-2
  • AGL no longer calculated for ACL ships on the scanners
  • Communications "chit" was incorrectly showing "Players" verbiage
  • Fix for subtitle scale and position
  • Fixes for ground vehicles that were able to get onto their sides
  • Origin now supported on Community Objectives
  • Veridian Bank home page now splits local vs. off-world commodity futures totals
  • Pocketful of Quarters integration now supports refresh tokens
  • 25% reduction in water vapor stream globally to improve ceiling and visibility

Battle Royale and Closed Captioning

It is still pretty early in the implementation but we have added a Battle Royale variation to the game. When a Battle Royale is scheduled there will be a TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) posted on the Player Portal. If you want to be included, be in the TFR at the start of the match. Last player standing wins! New achievements and badges are already available.



The new Polaroid inventory item (from the O-4 Salvage bonuses) is now visible in all vehicle types.

Closed Captioning is now available for ATC communications (Configuration->Interface->Closed Captioning) and is translated to the language of your choice.

2.2.18.1

Salvage operations are now authorized at the O-4 crash site. Salvage rolls take 1 minute and can yield up to 6 MT of commodities depending on your skill level.

Salvage rolls can also award inventory items like weapons, avionics, and brand new items like the backpack which increases your character's carrying capacity.

Colony territory inventory storage is also a thing now! You can store up to 9 distinct inventory types and up to 255 of each.

Required update 2.2.18.0

Salvage operations have commenced at the O-4 crash site (1312). We added a new character d20 skill "Search (Int)" which you will hone as you look for usable materials in the rubble. If you roll high enough, you will also get awarded an inventory item (weapon launchers, binoculars, etc) including 4 new items that can only be found in the wreckage!

These are stored in the new colony inventory. To facilitate that initiative (637) we had to make some breaking changes to the packet formats which requires this release before you can connect to the game server again.

In this patch we also address:

Logging for NaN pan in sound
Side load on tires with steering angle now evaluated for damages
Centralized gear shift logic
Ambient sound did not shut off when ship ran out of power
Added current gear to bus values for the Display subsystem and added indicator to the Mammoth
