The starting area has a bunch of items to help you in your testing. We will test out the first Biome/Zone/Area.

Update 16


  • Boars are back and they are not happy!
  • Baaaaaa go the sheep you will find around the area
  • Wolves are baaaaaacckkk!
  • All animals drop brains
  • Most animals drop hide for their species
  • Buildable structures have had a facelift
  • Fixed the window frame icon
  • Animals and monsters can now be hit by projectiles (magic and arrows)
  • Fixed animal-meat based fertilizer
  • Animal brains decay into organic waste
  • Players can no longer build in no-build zones
  • Spruce up your home with a painting made at the tailoring bench or a shelf made at the woodworking bench
  • Animal populations have been adjusted
  • Destroy stumps to permanently remove trees
  • Collect artifacts needed to open zone gates
  • The starter quest has been turned off for now

Update 15


  • Fox now roam the land
  • There is a more dangerous skeleton mob wandering around
  • Do you like spiders? There is a cave full of them to be found!
  • More ponds for drinking water have appeared in the starting area

Update 14


  • All decayed meat turns into spoiled meat
  • All decayed hide turns into organic waste
  • Cheat chests spawn quickly
  • Potatoes can be harvested
  • All grass has received a height boost
  • Tree stumps appear properly
  • You can no longer build in the starting area
  • The final step of tanning deer hide turns it into medium hide
  • The backpack made at the tailoring bench requires medium hide
  • AI will die if they fall through the world
  • Loot has been adjusted to be more interesting
  • There is a new monster in the starting area, beware!
  • There are now three more types of deer

Update 13

Update 13 brings the start of the actual gameworld you can expect in Rogue Frontiers. The first "easy" area is underway now and has a couple of points of interest to expolore.

Other items new in Update 13

  • New chestnut trees may drop chestnuts.
  • All trees drop leaves properly I think (fingers crossed!!!)
  • Stone, iron, and copper deposits exist on the new map
  • Potatoes and pumpkins can be found on the new map

Update 12

  • Treasure respawn areas can be opened again
  • Furnace can now be picked up
  • Furnace can now smelt copper ingots from copper ore
  • Composting bin auto-crafts up to 1 item at a time
  • Leatherworking rack auto-dries hides put on it, up to 3 at a time
  • Tailoring bench uses flax cloth in the recipe
  • Flax inventory items tell you which step they belong to in the process to make flax cloth.
  • Metal axe recipe uses iron ingots instead of iron ore
  • Several tailoring items use flax cloth now instead of other cloth
  • Leatherworking fully implemented! There are 7 crafting stations used to complete the process of making usable leather.
  • Deer leather components added to support the whole crafting process.
  • Fixed some flax icons for dropped blueprint scrolls.
  • Mortar crafting station has made its way to the world!
  • Craft various powders at the mortar.
  • Inventory icons are smaller.
  • Crafting recipes are bigger on the UI.

Update 11


  • You can pick up the compost bin
  • Fix cooked meat graphic
  • Spawn chest not working after load in from a saved game
  • Cant pickup compost bin
  • Clay and sand and rocks can give more per pickup
  • Animals always drop at least 1 meat
  • The claymore description and resulting item at the forge is correct
  • The leatherworking recipe produces the proper crafting station
  • Flax crafting is more descriptive.
  • Flax components decay much slower (and some never decay.)
  • Flax components require fewer per step.
  • Leafs dropped in the world and in your inventory look different
  • Loot spawning chests respawn after load
  • The copper ingot icon has a new look

Update 10


  • Hackled flax is now created properly
  • Compost bin auto-runs now
  • Claymore recipe fixed in the forge to be named properly now
  • Rabbit meat description fixed (used to say pig)
  • Crops start at growth stage 0 visually
  • Clients now see the raining particle when crops are being watered
  • Environmentals show up again properly
  • Clients now see the fertilizer timer bar
  • Animals now die on all clients properly
  • Spawns adjusted and bug fixed that resulted in too many animals
  • The compost bin automatically makes compost if the materials are present
  • You can make fertilizer from 10 organic waste + 20 fiber now
  • If you die and do not click respawn, the game no longer hides the cursor
  • You can now pick-up crafting stations with the Y key!

Update 9



  • The claymore weapon does more damage and weighs less
  • The lake with the keep in the middle is harder to see in now
  • Added compost bin to make fertilizer
  • You can make fertilizer in the compost bin from rotten rabbit, deer, or pig meat
  • Moonlight works now. Phases of the moon will affect the overall scene light. Auroras also show up.
  • Crops are watered from rain, a FX plays when its receiving enough water
  • There are more partrols of ghouls, some which only come out at night
  • Fertilizer starts being used if water is present (and goes until it runs out)
  • Axes and pickaxes last twice as long

Update 8


  • Building construction works again properly!
  • Armor and items with stat bonuses now add the proper bonuses
  • Plant stages now show properly on clients
  • The durability bar no longer throws divide by zero errors
  • NPCs will now see the proper threat
  • Campfire sound now fades away
  • Fixed some instances that refused to go away
  • When a crafting station or container is destroyed, the HUD now closes for anyone who had it open
  • You can now scroll your hotbar using the mousewheel (unless in build mode)
  • Loot containers now spawn the proper items
  • Cooked meat no longer burns no matter how long you leave it on the fire
  • Wall torch casts proper light now
  • All torches cast shadows now
  • Forge and several other workbenches now only requires 5 crystals to craft
  • Bodies of water now quench thirst
  • You no longer drown while treading water
  • Rabbits now drop rabbit meat instead of pig meat
  • Removed some floating bushes
  • Flint, stone, and sand now show a particle when you pick them up
  • Look, pretty fish...
  • Ghoul Keep no longer has its own weather pattern
  • Player death sound effects now only play for those who died
