New Update: Build 420 is now available on a closed Beta branch!
Warning – Warning – The Beta Branch will often have bugs and issues which could damage character and world saves. We recommend that you make a new character and world when testing builds in the Beta Branch. Moving forward, only character saves will work, old world saves will no longer be supported. This branch is planned to be in Beta for an extended period while we update it.
Thank you on behalf of the community for your contributions by checking out and reporting issue found in the Beta branch to improve the game!
How to opt in:

Here is a list of improvements and changes that you can expect to see in this Beta (briefly summed up):
Performance improvements
From the second you launch into a new world, you will notice the improved load times. As you navigate the iced lands before you, the experience is drastically improved with this update!
Pathing and avoidance around structures, objects and other creatures much improved
What this means is the AI will be functioning properly again. They will not be attacking you through walls, taking backpack rides on each other or standing around while you beat them in the face. Navigation should be drastically improved.
Animations improved
You will notice changes in the movement and general feel of the enemies. Seek out different foes to see these updates first hand!
Increased combat performance and overall AI improvements
Fights will feel better and balance numbers have been updated. You will no longer be attacked inside of buildings through the walls or see snow leak in through the ceiling of the house that you built so well.
Spawned items, enemies, and environment pieces have been tuned for each island
This update will change the experience. You will find a different verity of enemies spawning in areas and rare spawns will be found more consistently. Item placement, dungeons, and buildings have been adjusted as well. Adventure forth!
Kur, hidden weapons, and other changes
All I can say is that Kur will make sure that these lands stay Savage. Hidden weapons and a few other surprises need to be discovered by braves Savages. Good luck finding some of the new additions not mentioned in these patch notes!
Once this build has been tested by those that wish to check out the updated ahead of schedule, it will be launched as the new default. This will also mean closing build 290 to prevent community fracturing.
Thank you once again for all the feedback and posts in these forums over 2017. We look forward to your feedback on this update and hope you enjoy these Savage Lands.
Stay Savage,
Logan
Upcoming update, big island beta closing, and a general update.
Hello Savages!
We are currently working on an update for game right now that will contain the updates/fixes for the following major game features:
Pathing and avoidance around structures, objects and other creatures much improved
What this means is the AI will be functioning properly again. They will not be attacking you through walls, taking backpack rides on each other or standing around while you beat them in the face.
Animations improved
You will notice changes in the movement and general feel of the enemies.
Increased combat performance
Fights will feel better and there will be some balance numbers updated.
Spawners better tuned for each island
From the numbers of enemies to how often you see them, this update will change the experience.
Kur
All I can say is that Kur will make sure that these lands stay Savage. Need something on this list to remain secret, right?
Now, what does this mean for the big island branch? It is closing for right now because we want to make sure that the base game (the one we shfited to almost year agos with the Unity 5 engine update) is a good solid baseline for you as players and as customers.
This update is currently pencil'd in to be live before Christmas break so you all can enjoy Savage Lands again over your vacations. I will also plan a live stream mid December so we all checkin on the update together and get Zak to draw us something new!
Until then, enjoy your Thanksgiving coming up and stay Savage!
-Logan
Savage Lands is not abandoned, it is on pause.
Hello Savages,
The time has come for an update and clearly the request is heard, loud and clear. It has been a few months since we gave the option to play a different branch and during that time people have turned from slightly patiently to extremely harsh. Rather than reaching out, reading the forums or being positive - some pretty awful stuff has been posted and fights have been breaking out. Just because it is called Savage Lands, doesn't mean we should have Savage Attitudes about a pause in development.
We looked into having external resources help us while we are currently on a contracted project to keep updates coming and it was proving to present more problems. We are currently working on getting this contracted project to a soft launch state and then we will at a point to start working on Savage Lands again. We are currently projecting about three months till the next update.
Several of you have reached out to me directly have and been very respectful and understanding. The kind words about the game, where it has been, where it is going, and what it should end up as are always welcomed. As we have said all along though, we won't get to every idea and there is no way to please everybody, so keep that in mind with your feedback.
If you all would really like a stream for me to say this same information face to face, I am happy to and field questions live. Please note, I might sound like a broken record as this post sums up the current state and the estimated wait time. If you still want a stream, let me know in this thread and I will make one happen next week.
I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Make sure to go outdoors and stretch your legs out because a Savage winter is coming and you will need to be prepared...
Kindest Regards,
Logan

Game Update #45, Build 0.8.3.378
WARNING
The original Sundered Isle's content, which utilized Unity 4, has been moved to a Legacy Branch allowing players to access their old save data and continue playing the old content as they wish. Transferring save data between the Main game branch and the Legacy game branch is not supported.
This is a smaller update to the main game and it contains the following:
- Creatures are once again spawning on the Main and Dragon islands.
- Performance updates.
- Updated fires.
Know issue:
Respawning still has issues with this update. This will addressed shortly in an upcoming Beta next week.
Thanks again for your patience while waiting for this update. The biggest island yet is coming and it is taking a ton of focus for us to get it right. Hang in there Savages!
Best,

Big Changes:
AI Updates, Crash Fixes, and a way to get Unstuck!
New Features & Patch Notes:
AI Updates have hit the islands. While there are still changes to come to spawners, pathing, and AI, these updates should allow to continue to happily slaughter the creatures that scamper about the lands. If you see something that doesn’t look right, please give us some feedback!
Crash Fixes have been and will continue to be a priority with every update. Keep posting in the forums when you have a crash. It always helps if you have a good solid way to reproduce it!
A Way To Get Unstuck! While we are updating the art, the world, and currently the new big island – you now have a way to escape from being stuck!
In the chat/text enter box, just type this: /stuck
This command will warp you back to respawn point and kill you. Now to answer the question that will be most asked: Why kill us? Why would you do such a Savage thing for bugs in YOUR game?
Here is your answer: We kill players that use /stuck to get it balanced for early access. Once we are further along and have the map put together better, this feature will see an update, maybe even a button and a cooldown timer. We want players to be able to use it when in distress and not as a way to exploit the game.
Environment:
New art added to Snowmere, Freydalyn, and Jormungahr.
All the shorelines of the islands are continuing to be updated.
Bug Fixes:
AI and creature spawning.
Performance updates.
Various crash fixes.
Known Issues
Creatures hoping over things and ‘backpacking’.
Next Up:
More Performance Updates.
More creature AI, and pathing updates.
Item adding and balancing continues.
More art and design updates to the world.
Bug fixes.
Thanks again for your patience while waiting for this update. The biggest island yet is coming and it is taking a ton of focus for us to get it right. Hang in there Savages!
Best,
Logan
