Shoppe Keep 2

NEW UPDATE NOW LIVE | 50+ New Items, Orcs and Elves, New Rating System, Halloween Item

Hello all,

Welcome to the latest Shoppe Keep 2 update, which introduces 50+ new items to sell and equip, a new shoppe rating system, orc and elf shoppes, new towns, and a very special limited time Halloween item.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/684580/Shoppe_Keep_2/

Orc and Elf Shoppes

The orcs and elves have now set up their own shoppes in customerania - however they rely on you to provide them with items.

Once you have reached town level 3, you will see a notice board pop up near the management house which will display the items the elves and orcs wish to sell. They will send their trusted helper bots to collect these items. Fill their chests up and they will then provide you with 70% of the revenue they earn each day.

Once you have sent enough items, you can then purchase items from the elves and orcs to sell in your own shoppe. This will start to attract the elves and orcs to your store.

You can now also find an elvish town in Violet Valley, which is a work in progress!

New Rating System

A new rating system has been put in place within Customerania. Customers to your shoppe will now rate certain elements in your store.

They award points for cleanliness, the use of trash cans and decorations, and for the price of your items.

However any trash on the ground, unfair prices or general unfriendliness will see you receive less points.

These points can be used to unlock exciting new items to be sold in your store. 6 New armour sets are available as well as new weapons, trinkets and consumables.

Limited Time Halloween Item

Happy Halloween!

Log in now to receive your free Halloween pumpkin helmet in Shoppe Keep 2! This special item is only available until the next update, so let your friends know to log on over the Halloween period in order to grab it! The pumpkin helmet is tied to your character, so if you delete them, the item will be gone too. Other than that, you are able to keep the item permanently. Enjoy!

NEW UPDATE NOW LIVE | New Trailer, New Game Content

Hello all,

Welcome to today's Shoppe Keep 2 update! It sees the introduction of the level 3 blacksmith and alchemist, as well as orcs and elves.

Since Shoppe Keep 2 launched in Early Access in May, the game has seen a lot of new content and enhancements - and we've created a new trailer to celebrate!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TP1Q_vC5Xs4

Level 3 Blacksmith and Alchemist

The first of the headline content for this update is the Level 3 Blacksmith and Alchemist. Unlocking the Level 3 Blacksmith grants your Helper Bots flamethrowers for them to use against thieves.

Journal and Compass

Continuing on our journey to improve Shoppe Keep 2 as a game experience, we've added a compass and a journal.

The compass assists you in finding your way to objectives, and you can also now set a custom waypoint on the map, which will appear on your compass.

Today's update also introduces the journal, which will help guide you through outstanding activities which will earn you XP.

Orcs and Elves

Customerania is becoming ever busier, as Orcs and Elves are arriving! While they don't enter the town just yet, you can now go and visit the two factions for the first time by visiting them in Violet Valley and Savannah.

Changes to how the Game Launches on Steam

The way you launch the game on Steam has changed. You will now be presented with 2 options when you go to play the game.

The first option is to load with only the single player enabled. This decreases load times and can help alleviate crashing issues on load.

The second option is to load the game with the multiplayer, however this increases load times and can cause some crashes depending on your security settings.

Multiplayer Crashing Workaround

If your game crashes when trying to launch the multiplayer aspect of the game you should try the following actions.

- Download the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 security update which can be found here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999

- Delete the raknet.dll file from the Shoppe Keep 2 Directory and reacquire it.

The file can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Shoppe Keep 2\Shoppe Keep 2 MP\Shoppe Keep 2_Data\Plugins

Once deleted, please verify the integrity of the game files to reacquire the file.

Hello Keepers,

We hope that you're having a great time with last week's update, which was the game's biggest to date. If you're yet to jump back in and explore the level 3 town and play with the new families reputation system, make sure to do so, especially as the game is on sale!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/684580/Shoppe_Keep_2/

But today we have some further exciting news - trading cards have now been added to Shoppe Keep 2! Five have been added today, and we plan to add more in the future.

As with all Steam trading cards, half can be obtained via simply playing the game, with half having to be obtained via trading with other community members.

In Shoppe Keep 2's case, that means that three of the trading cards can be unlocked via simply playing the game, with Steam dropping them periodically based on how much time you spend playing. The other two you will be able to acquire by trading with other players in the community.

And if you manage to collect all five, you can even craft a Shoppe Keep 2 badge! Five standard badges and one foil badge is available to craft.

NEW UPDATE NOW LIVE | Level 3 Town, Families and More | Largest Update Yet!

Hello Keepers!

Welcome to Shoppe Keep 2's biggest Early Access update so far! Level 3 town progression and families have now been added. New items to use and sell, as well as countless tweaks and bug fixes have also been introduced.

Level 3 Town

You're now able to upgrade your quaint hometown once more, representing a boost in wealth due to your excellent Shoppe Keeping skills. Once you've hit the required tax threshold, you can now upgrade your town to level 3, changing the aesthetic of your home.

But the upgrade doesn't just impact visuals - upgrading the town to level 3 also unlocks some vital objects to use in your Shoppe, including mannequins, item displays, a weapon table and a pedestal for consumables.

Families

The powerful and influential Selutarr, Jotunn and Squalo families have arrived in Customerania! Once you upgrade to a level 3 town, each family brings brand new items for you to use and sell in your Shoppe, but there's a catch. Each of the families will keep a close eye on how much of their stock you sell, impacting your reputation with them.

An age-old rivalry between the three families means that they look unfavourably on you selling stock from their nemeses! Selling an item from a family will increase your reputation with them, while also decreasing your reputation with the other two families. Each family uses their power to either give you buffs or debuffs depending on your reputation with them.

Each family has their own little space in the open world of Customerania, so make sure to go and give each of them a visit!

Selutarr Family

If you have a positive reputation with the Selutarr family, they will reward you with...[List]
<*>Bonus: A portal which can be placed anywhere in the world. You can then travel between this portal and the management house. The portal lasts 24 hours.
<*>Passive Bonus: All stock orders are delivered into the management house instantly.

And if you have a negative reputation they will punish you by...

  • Causing any stock orders to be delivered to a random crafter within the town, instead of landing in the management house.

Jotunn Family

If you have a positive reputation with the Jotunn family, they will reward you with...[List]
<*>Bonus: Special furniture which has 200% durability and anything sold from it will give you an additional 15% revenue.
<*>Passive Bonus: An upgraded hammer, which will fix the durability of furniture with just one hit.

And if you have a negative reputation they will punish you by...

  • GIving stone boots to customers, meaning that they do more damage than usual when kicking your furniture

Squalo Family

If you have a positive reputation with the Squalo family, they will reward you with...[List]
<*>Bonus: A special consumable that grants you a flying squid which sticks by your side. The squid will feed on nearby items every five minutes, picking them up and adding them to your inventory.
<*>Passive Bonus: Unpaid tax strikes against you are eliminated.

And if you have a negative reputation they will punish you by...

  • Teaching thieves to be more stealthy, walking instead of running, making them harder for you to spot. The Squallo family will also grant thieves lightning-proof underwear, meaning that they are resistant to the Thief Zapper attacks.

Reputation with each family will slowly move down to 0 again if none of their items are sold.

NEW UPDATE NOW LIVE | The Secret Guild of Shoppe Keepers

Hello everyone,

A brand new Shoppe Keep 2 update is now live, and is part of our continued journey to improving the core gameplay.

Our previous update introduced a few changes to the way customers interact with your shoppe, and provided players with the opportunity to see when customers were upset with your shoppe. This week's update evolves further from the foundations introduced in the last update.

The Secret Guild of Shoppe Keepers

As a budding young shoppe keeper, you probably feel like you have a good understanding as to how one should manage their business. However, with today's update we have introduced the Secret Guild of Shoppe Keepers.

Who are the Secret Guild of Shoppe Keepers, you may ask? Well, it's a secret! However, while the persons responsible for the guild keep their identity hidden, they will often visit stores around Customerania and evaluate the quality of a shoppe.

How do they evaluate a shoppe? There's a variety of factors! They will look at furniture pieces and their durability and talk with customers about their experience within the shoppe. You can get a pretty good idea of your current standing by looking at your shoppe appeal (which has been added to the very top of the screen as part of the last update).

After they visit the shoppe, you will receive a letter on your marketing board which will tell you whether you passed the inspection or whether you failed. You'll also be informed of which requisites will be inspected when they next visit.

As you pass each rank you'll earn a new title and unlock a new special item of clothing. Here is a preview of the clothing that you'll unlock in your journey to become The Magister General of Grand Inspector Generals of Shoppe Keepers.

The ranks which you can obtain are represented by several emblems.

Along with a special item and fancy new title, you will also unlock Steam achievements as you progress through the ranks.

We have made a few other changes and fixes to the game. but we hope that this new challenge will give you an objective to strive towards when running your shoppe.

Let us know what you think of this update! Remember to join us and the rest of our amazing community on Discord by clicking the link below:

NEW UPDATE NOW LIVE | Refining Core Gameplay

Hi everybody! Today is the first step in refining the core gameplay experience of Shoppe Keep 2. We are working very hard to improve the game and have had some tremendous feedback from players. We still have quite a journey to improve Shoppe Keep 2 during Early Access and we hope that you all enjoy the improvements!

Changes to Progression

We discovered that many new players were finding it difficult to progress within the game - some even not understanding that there were more than the initial base items to sell in the game, and struggled to open the gates of the town. We wanted to help new players understand how to progress within the game and have changed how players unlock new buildings and crafters.

Pad Tax will still accumulate and is used to unlock upgrades. For example, the cook requires you to pay 250 tax, the blacksmith requires 750 tax and so on.

We hope this will give more meaning to the world and allow players to understand what they are working towards and what they can do once they unlock this new building. Once they unlock one item with tax, they will then receive information on the next available unlock. All this information can be found in the new Day Summary report which generates at midnight every day.

The Day Summary Report

The Day Summary report puts a little more context to your activities within the shoppe. We wanted to give players the opportunity to think about what they had sold, and how they can improve. The report includes helpful data such as the total items you've sold, how much money was made from each type of item, your tax threshold and the ability to pay tax directly without needing to speak to Gil the accountant. To access the end of day report when you see the small icon at the end of a day, visit the notice board by the management house.

Let us know what you think of the new daily report!

Happy Or Angry Customers

Additionally, we've made some subtle changes to how customers voice their opinion of your shoppe. If a customer experiences something positive happen in the shoppe like finding a good price on an item they want, they will emit a green happy face!

But if a customer is upset with prices, or they walk near some trash left on the ground, they will not be very happy and emit a red angry face

What is the outcome of keeping your customers happy? It will affect the customers' feeling towards your shoppe. You will see your hate level underneath the hot bar. You want to keep this hate level low otherwise customers will start to attack your shoppe!

The New Shoppe Appeal Gauge

Added within this build is a brand new appeal gauge. Initially this figure was accessible within the town management window, but we moved it to the top of the UI so that the player can see how their shoppe is performing at all times.

Good shoppe appeal will increase the number of customers that visit your shoppe and can be affected by having a variety of item types on display and an assortment of different furniture pieces.

Customer AI Has Been Improved

Customer AI has been improved and they are more likely to buy items from your shoppe.

Those are the major points of this week's update. Do let us know what you think! The full change log can be found below:

ChangeLog 0.106.3611531
