0.8.15 Update

Changes:
<*>The game over screen has been re-designed.
<*>Made significant changes to the first dungeon and almost every hidden item room in the game.
<*>Added medical boxes. These have replaced the wall mounted medical cabinets.
<*>Added ammo boxes that refill all of your secondary weapons' ammo. These are somewhat rare.
<*>Added destructible crates that have a chance to drop health, ammo, and money.
<*>It is intentional that the second player can use the second shotgun too. The description has been updated to reflect this.
<*>Adjusted the damage scaling of multiple shotguns slightly. The new damage totals are: 1=100%, 2=150%, 3=175%, and 4=200%
<*>Attack tiles are somewhat more predictable now. They shoot rocks in 8 directions with some variance rather than spraying them in completely random directions.
<*>Books can now contain graphics other than just text.
<*>Lesser items that drop over obstacles now appear nearby the obstacle instead of floating towards you.
<*>Players can no longer pick up or buy items they don't need.
<*>Made cracks in blocks and walls much more difficult to see. Can't have everyone finding everything now can we?
Bug Fixes:
<*>Selecting continue at the title screen repeatedly would eventually result in a crash.
<*>Using a book would sometimes cause the second player to become stuck.
<*>The second player did not take damage from poison. However, the first player took double damage from poison if the second player was present.
<*>Updates sometimes caused you to get stuck in the wall when continuing from a previous version.

0.8.14 Update

<*>Added a second type of book with a more alien look.
<*>Placed new books throughout the game. More are likely to come.
<*>Torovas' health and damage have been significantly increased.
<*>Durastin's health has been increased.
<*>Kevak's damage has been increased.
<*>Big slimes move a bit faster.
<*>Rebalanced the health and damage of various other enemies to make things more difficult.
<*>Increased the damage taken from explosions from 1.5 to 3. You do not want to be caught in an explosion. This makes red slimes and a certain boss much more dangerous.
<*>Temporarily added "Under Construction" signs to level 10.

0.8.13 Update

Changes:

  • Medical Cabinets no longer require missing health to use because they now save the game as well.
  • Added the "money making game". Hint: It's hidden about where you would expect.
  • NPCs now throw a volley of knives instead of fireballs when angered.
  • Moved the medical cabinet in the dark woods to help get out if you save there too early.
  • Reduced the volume of the grinding sound the wave cannon makes on impact.
  • Temporarily added a shameless review plug to the title screen.

Bug Fixes:

  • Eugene wore a gas mask in level 7 despite not having a gas mask.
  • Continuing in a hidden room and exiting West caused Eugene to become stuck.
  • Certain enemies were able to leave the playfield on rare occasion.

0.8.12 Update

<*>Added a new type of enemy that summons a large group of skeletons when it is destroyed.
<*>Fixed an issue with crossbow bolts giving health to certain enemies instead of taking it.
<*>Changed the way the save file is created. Cloud saves should work properely now.
<*>Save data has actually been wiped this time. It didn't work last time and may explain some of the loading issues lately.

Yet Another Hotfix

<*>Fixed an issue that caused the raft to send you back to the beginning of the game...
<*>The second player no longer disappears after using stairs.
<*>Fixed an issue with being sent back to the beginning when entering a room while touching the border that is visible in the demo. There still seems to be another similar issue, but this should make it happen a lot less frequently.

A Possible Save Bug

If you continue and appear back at the start or are stuck in a wall, send me some information on where you were supposed to load. I have not been able to reproduce this issue, so it may only occur with a save file from an old version of the game.

Hotfix

<*>Fixed an issue with the ghosts at the entrance to level 9 crashing the game after getting the rim fragment. I was a bit slow on the uptake on this one.

0.8.11 Update

<*>The second player no longer needs to be re-summoned every time you continue.
<*>The P1 and P2 icons that appear when there are 2 players are now colored red and blue.
<*>Updated the appearance of some of the dungeon entrances.
<*>Increased the maximum number of skeletons that enemies can summon to 9. Up from 3.
<*>The crossbow's damage has been increased to 100% of the shotgun's damage. Up from 75%.
<*>Max bolts have been reduced to 3 per upgrade. Down from 5.
<*>Fixed an issue with shop items disappearing forever when you attack the NPC then use stairs.
<*>Moved the doppelganger item to the first cave and moved the candle to the old doppelganger cave.
<*>Save data has been wiped in this update.

0.8.10 Update

<*>Items now display their name when you get near them and not just when you pick them up.
<*>Medical cabinets are no longer one time use. They will respawn after a short time away from the room.
<*>Added a new medical cabinet near the Southeast edge of the overworld to help prevent being stranded there.
<*>Unstable wave shells (The nova things) should no longer drop when there are no enemies left in the room for it to kill.

Hotfix Hell

Updating to a new save method has been difficult to say the least. Here are yet more fixes because of it.
<*>Exiting an item room should no longer crash the game after continuing. This persisted through several updates for various reasons.
<*>Fixed an issue with attacking NPCs crashing the game.
<*>Fixed a crash with finishing a dungeon crashing the game due to enemies forgetting their hp.
