Livestream with the devs - Send in your questions!
Hello all!
We seem to have had a lot of interest in the idea of livestreaming SiS and talking about the decisions we made and changes that have happened since the early alpha version. As some of you have found out, the game has changed direction quite substantially, so I'm sure it will make for an interesting discussion.
In order to allow everyone the chance to get involved, we thought we'd open the floor to questions from all of you - so if you can't make it to the stream, you can still play a part in it.
Anyway, please feel free to leave your comments below and they will be answered on the livestream. Alternatively you can tweet @Pugware with the hashtag #SiSQandA
When and where?
The livestream will take place tomorrow, (Saturday 11th March) over at Pugware - Youtube Channel at 5pm GMT
We hope to see you there!
Pugware
P.s. As mentioned before, I will also be turning the livestream into a video and uploading it to our Youtube channel, so you won't miss out if you can't make the livestream itself, but obviously it would be great if you could make it.
Trading cards coming to Shrouded in Sanity.
I want to apologize I didn't do this sooner.
In any case I made them and set them up for review by Valve. As soon as they accept them I will set them live.
I actually went and spent some time by adding extra lore to the cards and badges, emoticons etc. So if you liked the story of SiS keep an eye out for them.
Anyways I hope this will add some extra value to SiS :)
A very Butler-ian Patch. Plus possible stream.
Added;
---Butler blades - Now actually fly at a believable speed, are visible, and possible to guard against.
Changed;
---Black and red flames now fade out, instead of vanishing instantly.
---Black and red flames have lower dmg.
---Black and red flames can now be put out by swinging your sword.
Fixed;
--- Butlers - Now die, no matter what! They will not teleport on you and spawn fire while dead... I have no idea how I didn't notice this :I
Also...
I am planning a possible stream (which later will be turned into a video) of me playing Shrouded in Sanity, and talking about some thoughts I have about the whole project. Plus, it will be funny to see the guy who made it suffer through the game (hopefully won't be embarrassing!)
If you'd like to see something like that just say so below, and I'll find time to do this.
Usurper Demo, play it now.
For more information read below, but here is the link if you just want to try it:

I apologise for the delay but I kept adding more things, and had to do extensive testing, yet I am still convinced I missed some things.
First of all this is obviously a work in progress demo, bugs are expected to occur, and a lot of the assets are not final. Balance is definitely not final, and I had to disable all of the NPC's functions besides their dialogue. I implemented a placeholder 'help' function to better explain the Focus system, since the actual tutorial is not in the demo.
Keyboard and mouse settings can be altered, and should save properly. I suggest checking the layout to figure out what's what.
For those who enjoyed SiS and can remember the story, there will be a lot of juicy connections and a lot more revealed about the lore, I know some of you manged to piece together the events behind SiS, and will be happy to know our once Veimar, now once again Queen will make a return in Usurper leading a massive force, and the other Three Knights through the Citadel.
And who knows, maybe Guildford's ambitions will be more clear, as well as what becomes of those who sacrifice a few hundred people to some alien Fog :)
I hope you'll enjoy this small demo of the game, I am really nervous about it because I always forget something, and afraid I left something silly in the demo.
Small update.
Fixed;
---Occurances of double death, still could not reproduce it, but implemented a double preventions to avoid this in any case.
Chnaged;
---Riposte damage nos scales with your dmg upgrade, this might make the game too easy, but we'll see.
Small update / Possible fix for the annoying black screen bug.
Changed;
---Rolling now happens on pressing the key not releasing.
---Small change to ending credits to show the final look of the Citadel.
Fixed;
---Black screen/hang after a few seconds bug is now hopefully fixed, this was very annoying to track down and I am still not entirely sure why it happens to about 2% of the users. Now it's hopefully gone forever.
Usurper Greenlight is LIVE.
The sequel to Shrouded in Sanity is finally on Greenlight, you can find it here:

If you liked it help us out by voting, while Greenlight still exists.
To be frank, I wanted to release the Greenlight alongside the playable demo, however you might be aware that Valve decided to kill Greenlight for good. The Demo will be coming out hopefully within a week - all that's really left to do is to finish off some sounds.
Thank you, and we hope to see your feedback on Usurper!
25% Permanent price reduction, and Usurper news.
As of today Shrouded in Sanity received a permanent price reduction of 25%.
Happy new years to everyone.
Usurper is the semi sequel for this game but not called Shrouded in Sanity 2 because its genre is very different to SiS. It takes place one year after the events of SiS and the main playable character is Saragat the Fourth Knight boss form SiS. It's a fully 2D Metroidvania and will improve on every aspect of SiS as well as have an entirely unique battle system pretty much never done before. It will be popping up on Greenlight hopefully very soon.
As for the demo is near it's completion, I had to put it off for a while because I wanted to have a feature complete demo of the final game, as close to the alpha version as possible.
Shrouded in Sanity - OST DLC is here!
For those of you that want to hear the OST without the madness and insanity of battling through bosses - now you can!
As you can see, the OST is priced at $1.99 (£1.59), and I'm hoping you'll feel that the price of one or two cups of tea (depending on where you get it from!) is worth the 49 minutes of music, including of course the 2 bonus tracks which have not been heard before.
NOTE:
To access the files once you buy the DLC, you will need to navigate to the games root folder which can be found on the hard drive with your Steam games on as follows:
Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Shrouded in Sanity > OST
If you can't find the files, please don't hesistate to ask and we will try and help you.
One thing out of our control is that you can only buy the DLC if you already own the game. Sadly this is the way Steam handles DLC - not our doing!
Thank you, and happy listening!
Jamie Warne
(Composer for SiS)
P.s. If you liked the soundtrack, you may be interested to hear that I will also be working on the next project - Usurper
Shrouded in Sanity - OST DLC Ready for release!
That's right, at long last the OST DLC is ready for release.
Originally I planned for it to be ready for May, but various issues and events have had to be given higher priority, so huge apologies to those of you who have asked for this and waited patiently for all that time.
Anyway, I'm pleased to announce that all being well (with the acceptance through Steam), the DLC will be available for download on the 14th October! (Price to be confirmed when accepted by Steam.)
The DLC will include over 49 minutes of music, including 2 bonus tracks. Here's the full list:
Beckoned Fog (Title Music)
Blade of Faithless (Gray - The Second Knight)
Swift Judgement (Hito - The Third Knight)
Dance of Blades (Saragat - The Fourth Knight)
The Executioner (Len - The First Knight)
Lost Promise (The King)
Under Duress (Opening Scene)
The Messenger (The Monolith)
The Fog Has Lifted (Credits)
Fall of the Manor (Bonus Track 1)
The Curse of Berelaai (Bonus Track 2)
I will mention it again when it is released, but to access the files once you have bought the DLC, you will need to navigate to the steamapps folder for Shrouded in Sanity. Let's just say Steam makes things very awkward sometimes! Just in case you don't know how to navigate there, I will explain on the next announcement when the OST DLC is released.
Thanks (and sorry for the delay),
Jamie Warne (The composer for SiS' soundtrack)
