Patch 16
Today's patch 16 includes a number of cool updates that make your experience in Skyfront a ton sleeker and more streamlined!
Team Deathmatch mode was long overdue for some TLC.
The Team Deatchmatch game mode now allows players to select their team. When you join Team Deathmatch, you will be asked, which team you want to join. As long as the match hasn't started, you have two additional chances to switch teams. Mid-match team changes will not be possible.
This patch brings a redesigned death screen, which now tells you both the name of your killer, as well as the weapon that killed you. In addition, the death screen will display your current killstreak, should you have gone on one.
Another major update concerns the weapon switch. When you have one weapon equipped, you can click on either side of the scrollwheel to bring up the other weapon. We hope the carousel weapon switch will make it easier and quicker to switch weapons mid-game.
To tweak the meta, we buffed the Locust minigun. A single bullet now does 30 HP damage, instead of the former 20. In addition, the bullet spread when you have the gun equipped with both hands has now been reduced to 0.
To top it off, the Gamehub match list now displays active match hosts instead of the original match creators.
And one bug fix as well:
- Removed a bug that caused the volume to go all the way down whenever a player changed the volume settings in-game.

Skyfront Skirmish – Overview
Skyfront Skirmishes are weekend challenges that Skyfront organises every couple of weeks. During each Skirmish, players will compete for a certain high score (e.g. most kills, best multikill, killstreak, most kills with a certain weapon, etc.) that will be announced the week of the event. Players will compete in one of three Leagues – Titan, Master or Rookie – depending on how many hours the player has spent in Skyfront. Play time is limited to the duration of the Skirmish and all weapons and special abilities are allowed, unless stated otherwise (e.g. if the Skirmish is devoted to a specific weapon).
Each future Skyfront Skirmish and the prizes of future Skirmishes will be announced separately.

Patch 15
Patch 15 is all cute and tiny, so let's get into it!
Frist off, we realized a couple patches back that the two-handed mode for our Sniper Rifle and Locust minigun has remained a mystery to a lot of players. As such, we added a visual prompt for two-hand use when the Sniper Rifle and Locust are equipped for the first time. The prompt appears only once per session and can be disabled in the Options menu.
Secondly, let's be honest, our characters flight looked a bit stiff. This patch brings character movement animations, which should result in more realistic looking flying.
Lastly, bot mode has been the bane of many of our players. To make the bots less deadly, we decreased the bots' fire rate by 50% and increased their fire spread by 100%.
Patch 15 includes the following bug fixes:
Eliminated a bug that allowed for only 9 players in a 10-player match;
Fixed some collision meshes that caused weird bounce angles for grenades on the Egypt map;
Got rid of a tutorial bug that caused button layout errors on Oculus controllers;
And another bug that caused the tutorial menu to move after using the rotate buttons on Oculus;
The shockwave ability now does damage to bots in the tutorial;
Fixed the problem with the incorrect password popup window, which caused it to appear behind the main menu when you entered the wrong password for a private match;
And got rid of a bug that caused the player's arms to freeze in a fixed position after being killed while holding a weapon with two hands.
And there you have it, patch 15. ːsteamhappyː
Skyfront Skirmish: Both Hands on the Gun
Skyfront Skirmish: Both Hands on the Gun
April 27th 8 PM UTC until April 30th 5 AM UTC
Hey, we get it, the Locust minigun is hard to handle. That’s why we’ve added a prompt in the game that makes it loud and clear – for best results, grab the Locust with both hands!
In single-hand mode, firing the Locust results in some serious wrist-breaking recoil. And the aim isn’t all that. When you grab the top handle with your other hand, the recoil all but disappears and your aim is spot on and deadly! Practice makes perfect! And the guy or gal with the best aim will take home the prize!

Skyfront Skirmish: Both Hands on the Gun will begin Friday April 27th at 8 PM UTC and end Monday April 30th at 5 AM UTC.

Major Updates in Patch 14
KABOOM! POW! CRACK!
Yes, we’re finally introducing our grenade launcher, Pineapple! This weapon is a heck of a lot of fun and shoots three grenades with 60 pellets each with a reload time of just 1.5 seconds! The grenades have a range of 500 metres and travel at a speed of 60 m/s. The damage radius of each grenade is 15 m with a splash damage of 20 to 100 hp and an additional 40 hp damage per pellet hit. Talk about versatile, right?!
Some additional features include the grenades bouncing off walls and a distance indicator that turns green when an opponent is within the grenade’s damage radius.
The second big update in this patch is the tutorial that will take the player through basic game functions, e.g. how to use the thrusters, how to fly, use the grapple and select and use weapons. We haven’t included some of the more complicated features – like how to use two-handed weapons more efficiently – into the tutorial, but we’re working to add these into the game very soon.
By adding the tutorial, we also cleaned up the Main Menu hierarchy to make the Tutorial and Loadouts section more visible.
Of course, this patch also includes quite a few bug fixes. We fixed:
A bug that allowed players to place the Locust minigun inside structures and essentially shoot through walls;
A bug that displayed opponents as holding two weapons even when they were actually using one two-handed weapon;
A bug with particles from the rocket launcher’s explosions that gave the particles’ infinite lifetime thus causing vfx build-up and visual lag;
Several sound vfx bugs;
And some other tiny, barely noticeable bugs. ːsteamhappyː
Congrats Damocles, vr and RSSmoker on your win! ːsteamhappyː
On a slightly more dreary note, we're doing a rollback. The last few days have revealed some really annoying networking bugs. We're working super hard to find a definitive fix to these asap and will keep you updated on our progress on Steam and Discord!
Also a huge thanks to everybody that pointed our attention to the bugs! We couldn't do it without you!
Skyfront Skirmish: Shockwave Showdown + Patch 13
Patch 13 Brings You the New and Improved Shockwave and a Ton of Overdue Bug Fixes
The star of Patch 13 and this weekend's Skirmish is our Shockwave special ability. Did you know that the underrated Shockwave does a whopping 180 HP of damage? To make it even better, Shockwave now shoots through walls! And as the cherry on top, we also pumped the speed of the Shockwave from 50 m/s up to 75 m/s!
Since it turns out that we greatly miscalculated how long it takes for someone to grab a glass of soda or tell their dog to stop eating the headset's wires (again!), we upped the AFK detector's wait-time from 30 seconds to 3 minutes.
In this patch, our professional exterminators got rid of the following bugs:
Say byebye to the networking bug that froze the voice chat settings after the host left the match;
And to the networking bug that reset the player's score after the host left the match;
Got rid of a minigun muzzle VFX preload bug that caused a slight delay when the minigun was used for the first time;
The skybox on the Egypt map now properly renders in the Sniper Rifle's scope;
And the Shield hitbox problem that left the character vulnerable in extreme positions has also been removed – You can now stretch and jump as much as you want, safely tucked away in your Shield's hitbox.
Skyfront Skirmish: Shockwave Showdown
March 9th 8 PM UTC until March 12th 5 AM UTC
Shockwave Showdown is our first Skirmish dedicated to a special ability. In this week’s update, we pumped the Shockwave up to penetrate walls! Aim the Shockwave the same way you aim with any of the weapons – just point in the direction you want to blast the Shockwave. Even if your opponent thinks they’re super sneaky by hiding behind a wall, you know better! Send those waves rippling and may the King or Queen of the Shockwave be crowned by the end of this Skirmish!
Date and Time
Skyfront Skirmish: Shockwave Showdown will begin Friday March 9th at 8 PM UTC and end Monday March 12th at 5 AM UTC.

Skyfront Skirmish: Rapid Fire + Patch 12
Patch 12 is pretty straightforward:
We fixed a bug that allowed the player to still use the thruster while holding a weapon with both hands.
Our minigun is finally here! And it is aptly named the Locust!
Skyfront Skirmish: Rapid Fire
February 23rd 4 PM UTC until February 26th 5 AM UTC
The new Locust minigun is alarmingly fun and potent! It’s ram-packed with power, bullets – a whopping 200 rounds before you need to reload! – and hours of entertainment!
One-hand it if you think you can handle the recoil. Two-hand it to improve your aim and pepper your opponents with the true might of the gun!
The player to get the most kills with the Locust minigun before the end of the Skirmish will take the prize!
Date and Time
