Welcome to the new Space Mechanic Simulator Developer Insights. In which, we share some development progress from the last weeks.
The last few weeks have been mostly scripting and adding new and improved dialogue and interaction to our maps.
We have been focusing on adding more detail and improving the visual aspects while maintaining proper optimization. We added a lot of new objects that needed extra attention.
Furthermore, we’d like to thank everyone once more for supporting us and sharing your feedback on our forums, social networks. Remember that all the videos, screenshots shown above are from a WIP build, they don’t reflect the final version of the game.

We are still working on polishing the prologue. Today, we would like to share a video, which presents our nameless rover in action. And in addition, a mini demonstration of what the atmospheric conditions currently look like on Mars.

At the moment, we are still focusing very hard on preparing the prologue. We're implementing new elements, fixing bugs, and doing everything to make sure that everything works. We focused on adding details that would build some atmosphere to the game.
Not only that, but we also started implementing achievements to the Prologue. That means you'll have some extra challenges to complete.

The last few weeks have been very intense, with a complete overhaul of the weather system for missions to the surface of planets, including Mars. In this particular case, sandstorms have occurred which drastically reduce visibility.
In addition, we have improved the animations of the rover itself once again. They are smoother and look much better than the previous ones. We are strongly considering a name for our rover. On occasion, we polish the prologue, fix bugs, add interactions, improve translations and dialogues.

The following weeks passed very quickly, we made quite a few changes, in order to unify the vision we had to make some changes to some missions and align them quite significantly with the rest of the project.
In addition, we are working on lighting inside the facilities, improvements to the menu interface, implementation of completely new mini-games, and more

We have spent the last weeks preparing more maps for the game. There will be quite a few of them and each will be a different challenge. In addition to that, we focused very hard on improving all the objects, on all the maps in space. What does this mean? Well, it means that all stations, rockets, satellites will be more detailed and better thought out. Due to the sizable changes to the rover missions, we focused on simplifying the code and removing unnecessary parts that sometimes caused problems. Everything is done so that you don't run into major bugs.
Apart from that, the whole team focused on testing in order to catch minor bugs and check all newly implemented elements. There are quite a few missions, so it was quite a lot of work too, but that's good because we were able to locate some smaller issues.

We spent the last few weeks working hard on improving the physics of several objects and polishing the rover look.
Work on the prologue continues, with each passing week it gets closer to completion. We focused heavily on testing and eliminating bugs and improving those elements that we felt needed even more attention. We hope that the final effect will be very satisfying for you.

Previous weeks passed under the sign of the rover and all the elements associated with it. The focus is on improving physics, the driving model and better animations of interactions with the environment.
And on top of that we're improving the rover maps by adding, a lot of detail and improving the visual aspects while maintaining proper optimization. The game is looking better and better with each passing week, and ultimately we're hoping for a big jump from what you saw in the demo.

In recent weeks, we've once again done another code cleanup, that was causing problems. Due to the appearance of new elements, we also had to work on optimization and sound design a bit more. The game runs much more stable and faster!
We are working intensively on adding quite a few additional map events, which will make repairs much more difficult, and definitely more fun.

The last few weeks have been very important for the project. With each passing day, there are more and more missions in the game itself. In other words, there will be plenty to do and fix.
We are constantly increasing the number of constructions available in Time Attack Mode. This mode must be a challenge, and we are doing our best to make you enjoy playing it.
