- The Commandeer game mechanic is now in-game. Firing a Marine Pod that reduces a ship’s crew to zero will result in the marines taking over the ship and attempting to escape the map with the ship. Due to the covert operations of the Marines’ operations, other Genari players will not be aware that a ship has been commandeered and will still be able to fire upon the ship. When a commandeered ship leaves the map double experience will be awarded to all Genari players in the map with the majority of the experience going to the player who captured the ship. The interaction for Sol players whose ships are commandeered will function the same as if their ship was destroyed with it going on cooldown if it isn’t a starter ship. The Commandeer skills for the Marine Commandeer will remain disabled for the time being.
- A new product to double the LP/HP a player earns is now available in the Shipyard. Upon purchase all HP/LP a player earns for 24 hours will be doubled. The LP/HP bars on the Spacedock and Galaxy Map will have a visual effect when the bonus is active. The time remaining will be displayed on the LP/HP doubler product on the Shipyard. Purchasing multiple of these at one time will extend the duration HP/LP will be doubled.
- The Ship Glossary is now having its information dynamically populated so it will always be up to date with any design changes to ships and structures.
- The chat bar will now be open by default.
- The Genari captain skill Rally Offensive will now be refreshed upon returning to the shipyard after a ship’s destruction.
- Players will now be able to correctly move in reverse with the Rotation skill if they have less than 2 or more but less than 3 movement points remaining.
- The number of times a captain can be respecced has been increased to 6.
SpaceWars Early Access Beta Update v1.04
-The Shipyard will now function as the in-game store to consolidate where players use credits. Captain portrait changes, ship name changes, and captain & officer respecs are now purchasable with credits as consumable tokens in the Shipyard. These tokens can then be expended on the specific ship, officer, or captain without the need for any additional credit expenditure. These consumables are per account, so they will carry over between server seasons if not used.
Many of the ship classes have had their power to movement ratios adjusted. Class I, II, and V remain the same.
Class III: Changed to 2 power for 3 movement
Class IV: Changed to 3 power for 2 movement
Class VI: Changed to 5 power for 1 movement
Class VII: Changed to 7 power for 1 movement
Class VIII: Changed to 11 power for 1 movement
Class IX: Changed to 15 power for 1 movement
Class X: Changed to 20 power for 1 movement
The Maneuverability officer skills have been changed to now give a specified number of movement points during the combat phase instead of being a percentage. Maneuverability I: +1 Movement Point per round.
Maneuverability II: +2 Movement Points per round.
Maneuverability III: +3 Movement Points per round.
Maneuverability IV: +4 Movement Points per round.
Maneuverability V: +5 Movement Points per round.
-Movement points will now display to 2 decimal points to help with confusion with rounding.
-Addressed an issue where the AI would wait out their full turn time if their weapon was damaged.
-Cooldown of Class 4 ships (Frigates) reduced to approximately 24 hours.
SpaceWars Early Access Update v1.03
-The Helmsman officer skill Rotation is now available. This skill will reduce the Movement Point cost for turning per hex side by half and reverse will only cost 2 Movement Points.
-Movement Points will now be displayed with a decimal value in combat.
-The sector lockout for retreating will now be applied immediately upon player disconnect.
-Support ships, directly piloted by a player, will now be correctly blocked from entering a sector if it would exceed a sector’s faction limit.
-AI controlled ships will now rotate in place to fire all their weapons instead of moving to a new node.
-AI controlled ships will now be able to move more effectively in maps due to a change in how they handle movement points..
-Fixed an issue where the Kumano light cruiser was getting the ship skill benefits for Comfortable Crew instead of Advanced Med Bays.

SpaceWars Early Access Update v1.02
• Made some visual adjustments to the variant buttons on the Shipyard.
• Added a new feature that allows us to set a Honor/Leadership point bonus that is awarded to the player upon creating a character for a specific faction.
• The sector lockout for retreating is now per captain instead of per ship.
• Fixed several issues with not being able to get credit for defending sectors. Sector defense is now counted if a player is of the defending faction and is in the map when it shifts from combat to freeflight due to an enemy ship’s destruction or retreat. Sector defense can only be rewarded once per sector. The per sector restriction is reset upon docking with a friendly Spacedock.
• Players will now be able to adjust power levels to damaged systems during the allocation phase.
• Ship systems (weapons, shield arcs, scanners, and marine pods) will no longer have their power automatically deallocated when damaged.
• When the AI takes over a ship after a Player disconnects it will no longer attempt to move to the edge of the map before warping out.
• The different classes of repair ships will now appear as separate ships not variants in the Shipyard.
• Fixed an issue where the engine power status was not displaying the correct value based on crew damage.
• Support ships directly controlled by a player will now count towards a sector’s faction limit.
• Fixed an issue with the incorrect image being used for the Helix server.
• The Enter Galaxy button will now only appear in the Shipyard once all data has been loaded to prevent an invalid client state.

SpaceWars Early Access Beta Update v1.01
Two new station types (Class V defense platforms) have been added, which replace the original first defense lines. They are significantly weaker than the Class X stations, and allow for earlier breakthrough with a dedicated team of lower tier players.
In addition, the shipyard has been updated whereby you can see all tiers of ships in one page. Eventually this page will implement the Spacewars Store features.

Helix Server Now Open for Gaming!
Now that our first Early Access Open Beta server run is done, we're happy to announce Space Wars V1.0. After over a dozen updates and patches to fix bugs, gameplay issues, balancing, quality of life and features, V1.0 is now open and ready for gaming.
Developer Note: It is unfortunate that negative reviews for the open beta (0.x) server has brought the Steam rating average down. This game is a unique MMO that needs a large player base to test the features and fix gameplay issues, and the game is free. If you have participated in V0.X, now come and try our first full server V1.0.
Please keep in mind that the Development team is composed of only four people (programmers, artists, producer) and fully self-funded. There are no publishers supporting this game, and it is a labor of love. Nobody on the team is planning to get rich from this; we want players to enjoy this newfound community of tactical space combat strategy gaming.

Sol Imperial Worlds: Victory!
After 50 days of war between Sol Imperial Worlds and the Genari Star Empire, the Humans have won. A rather long siege of the Genari Homeworlds began a few days before, until they were ready to take on the innermost planet of the Sanethi star system. The Genari Homeworld Command Base was destroyed, and the Matriarchs with it.
All players involved will receive legacy medals and awards, which in turn gives players credits for the next server run based on the value of their legacy.
SpaceWars Early Access Beta Update v0.20
-A new AI Faction Limit has been added to all sectors. All AI controlled combat ships will count towards this new value, and once the AI faction limit has been hit reinforcement ships and players with Fleet Commander ships will be blocked from entering.
-AI controlled ships are now more strategic and will turn to utilize their aft, starboard, and port weapons in combat.
-End of server season achievements are now available. Legacy Medals and -Credits will be awarded to players with characters that meet the achievement fulfillment requirements at the time of the server season ending.
-The Legacy Medals and Credits will be awarded the next time the player loads the server selection screen.
-The requirement for earning the Grand Strategist Legacy Medals have been increased:
Legendary Strategist: Increased to 200+ regions captured
Heroic Strategist: Increased to 160-199 regions captured
Renowned Strategist: Increased to 120-159 regions captured
Distinguished Strategist: Increased to 80-119 regions captured
-Fixed an issue where the Genari Legendary Strategist medal was not displaying any information in the medals box.
-The closed server list will now order previous servers from most recent to oldest.
-Fixed an issue that allowed players to earn Siege Points in Hive and Ma'alaketh sectors.
-Fixed an issue where shipyards were not sending reinforcements to the same sector or the same map for which they reside.
-Sectors that contain defense platforms have had their Faction Limits doubled.
-Sectors with a faction limit of 2 or 4 now only permit class I, II, and III ships.
-Fixed an issue where defense platforms were not awarding siege points.
-Addressed several issues that were preventing some of the smaller and larger Hive and Ma'alaketh reinforcements from appearing.

SpaceWars Early Access Beta Update v0.19
-Added a new sector isolation feature to the game. When one or more sectors which do not contain structures are no longer directly connected to a shipyard via other sectors of the same faction they will be identified as isolated. When a sector becomes isolated a timer will begin and if it is still isolated when the timer hits 0 the sector(s) will switch control over to the opposing faction. Locked sectors will not be considered as isolated until after the lock is removed.
-The ability to delete characters has been disabled for the remainder of this server season.
-Addressed an issue regarding the AI that would result in server performance issues over an extended period of time.
-Fixed a visual issue where the faction icons were incorrectly flipped on the siege bar for multimap sectors.

SpaceWars Early Access Beta Update v0.18
-Players will now be able to correctly attack and capture individual maps in multimap sectors in the correct progression order. The defending faction will be able to counter-attack captured maps to regain control in the reverse order of the attackers. When all maps in the sector are owned by the attackers the sector with lock and change ownership.
Note: There is a known visual issue where the faction icons can be incorrectly flipped on the siege bar when the map is captured by the attacker but the sector is still owned by the defender.
-The defending faction for contested sectors will now slowly recover siege points if there are no enemies in the map.
-Fixed an issue with the ship skill Radiation Resistant not functioning. It functions in the same manner as the officer skill Resistance 1 but will not stack.
-Fixed an issue where Hive shipyards were not properly appearing on the galaxy map.
-Fixed an issue where the Hive were not reinforcing their sectors when attacked by Genari or Sol.
-Activating Stress Engines during the allocation phase will result in the ship’s weapons being disabled during the following combat phase.
-Player will now be blocked from entering a sector if a support ship in their fleet exceeds the max class allowed in the sector.
