Update 76 - Stability and Solo Fixes

Hey Everyone,

We have another solid update today that resolves vast variety of issues. One of the most important parts of this update is server stability – we expect a lot less server restarts or downtime. This in turn fixes around 20 issues that would occur on server restarting or going offline.

In addition, we fixed a lot of issues with the online singleplayer server – such as finding or missing campfires or workstations. A lot of work also went into overall stability and various balancing issues.

You can expect one more large update by Wednesday or Thursday fixing dozens of remaining outstanding issues, and with that out of the way we plan to release offline multiplayer towards the end of this week.

Now, lets take a look at what out update 0.76 has in store, Patch notes are a bit short today, as majority of work went for the back-end of the server and the game engine.


  • Greatly improved server stability
  • Fixed majority of bugs causing servers to sometimes crash
  • Significant reduction in CPU when hosting dedicated player servers
  • Fixed issue in singleplayer where players would sometimes loose their campfire or workbench
  • Also fixed singleplayer issues with randomly finding workstations and campfires in the world

Update 75 - Online Singleplayer and More...

Hey Everyone,

Today`s milestone update brings first major new feature - addition of online singleplayer. Online singleplayer mode allows you to explore the game world on you own without other players. However, the online features are there to help you. Such as - your progress is stored online, allowing you to play from any computer. You can access in-game chat to ask other players or Moderator questions. Moderators are also available to help you if you encounter some rare bug or a problem.

This update also brings several important fixes – mainly fixing various issues with player progress sometimes not saving. We also added some new base building materials, now available to craft or buy.

Thanks so much for everyone`s support - we are truly blessed to have such an amazing community. Meanwhile we are two updates away from getting foundation of the game fully polished, then we can finally add offline singleplayer and game hosting without mySQL. Once that`s done we`ll focus on quality of life improvements, better graphics, new equipment and vehicles, and a lot of new content for mid to late game. All of this is coming our way over the next couple of weeks.

Now, lets take a look at what out update 0.75 has in store, Patch notes are a bit short today, as singleplayer online is the biggest part.


  • Added online singleplayer mode
  • Add ability for Moderators to assist players in online singleplayer mode
  • Fixed all instances of player progress not saving any every game mode
  • Fixed issues with players character rarely completely disappearing – asking to create a new one
  • Fixed rare issue with player spawning in a middle of space in case of internet disconnection during loading screen
  • Concrete Ceiling and Fence is now craftable and available for placement
  • Fixes Cassius – players can fly to it now safely, it would stop flying into the planet at high speeds
  • Improved our swear words filter to keep chat cleaner
  • Disabled base building component fence and wood gate as it wasn`t peaceable
  • Fixed various items not working properly: solar noodles, simple backpack, blue beanie
  • Fixed issues when trying to self host with errors referencing bounties_collected and death_count

Update 74 - Interface Fixes (Singleplayer Online soon...)

Hey Everyone,

We have a smaller update today, as looks like we`ll need another day to polish Online Singleplayer before we can bring it back in. We temporarily disabled it and expect it to be back online tomorrow.

Today`s update several important fixes – mainly fixing user interface problems like tooltips not showing, and final issues effecting losing items when moving them between containers.

Meanwhile work continues on the offline singleplayer mode that we expect later next week. Please keep in mind that online and offline singleplayer modes will not share character progress.

Update 73 - Major Update

Hey Everyone,

We have a solid major update today that fixes the last of the severe bugs and brings a lot of improvements. We fixed all the issues with players logging out in vehicles or getting pushed under ground. Last remaining issues with items disappearing, or duping should also be resolved as well.

Aside from bug fixes you will notice improved visuals and performance in space. And after a bit of a delay, we have finally added a fresh new PvE server that is now available for players who wish for a fresh start. In addition, Portuguese Brazilian translation has been added to the game. More languages are on the way later this winter. We have two more updates to release before we can safely say that the game is in good shape, and we can focus on the new content.

And you can expect singlepayer (online version) - to become available by Thursday, with offline singleplayer to follow soon after. We decided to bring Online Singleplayer live first for players who still want to play on their own, but might want to ask other players or our Moderators questions while in a solo game.

  • Added fresh new PvE server – Global 0 (New)

  • Crafting Polymers and Vehicle Fuel now gives back empty oil containers – was requested by so many players
  • Added full translation to Portuguese for players from Brazil and Portugal
  • Stopped all griefing using land mines and other means on PvE servers
  • Showing warning to players from Mainland China who require VPN to play

  • Fixed Chinese localization showing incorrect characters everywhere

  • Fix a major issue in tutorial with building a Wood Shack
  • Fixed ferry from Brutus Salty Springs where players could get stuck
  • Fixed various issues with Cassius planet – like lag, visuals and other problems
  • Fixed game breaking issue when lighting Campfire or Furnace
  • Fixed bug allowing player to fly inside Cassius planet and get stuck there
  • Major fix to logging back into the game while in a spaceship and not being inside of it

  • Reworked the Ferry Kiosks at 3 main space stations – easier to access the Vendor

Update 72 - Major Issues Resolved

And we are back with our fifth daily update – and a milestone of sorts. At this point we are glad to say that vast majority of game breaking bugs has been fixed, and players can now experience the game without without loosing progress.

There`s still a lot of polish that we`ll be working on during this coming week, but we expect the game to be in a great shape within days, finally allowing us to start implementing quality of life improvements and new content.

Today`s update resolves the last of the server stability issues, and fixes all the bugs that caused players to loose their vehicles. A large number of other priority issues has been resolved,

Also tomorrow we are finally adding two new fresh servers - one PvP and one PvE, and hope to have some good news about offline singleplayer - finishing touches now.

First of all – please accept our sincere apologies for the server disconnection and crashing issues of the past 30 hours – especially on server 3. We finally have this resolved, and scaling things up to support the increasing player population. Migrating server 3 to a stronger server tomorrow (all player data will be intact), and we also are adding two new fresh official servers tomorrow - PvP 2 and PvE 4.

And we have another solid update for you today!

We focused on server stability to fix the crashing issues, as well as worked on vehicle disappearing issues – the only one remaining happens is when flying to the other planets, please avoid that for now. Fixing that by tomorrow. This update also includes a range of fixes and improvements, as well as updated translation for German and Chinese versions. In addition we have done a lot of work on balancing crafting, item stats, weight and durability.

          Update 70 - Daily Updates Continue

          And we are back with yet another daily update - bringing a large number of fixes and improvements. Also we wanted to take a moment to thank our players for all the encouragement and feedback! This really helps us push forward as our small team works day and night on getting Stars End into a great shape.

          Today`s update resolves a lot of issues with vehicle ownership, fixing some of the remaining critical bugs and adds various improvements requested by our players. In addition we made it a lot easier for our Moderators to help players in-game. If you loose some items or vehicles due to one of the remaining bugs - our moderators will be able to assist you remotely in seconds now.

          Our plan for the next few is days is to continue with daily updates until every major issue is resolved. Meanwhile we are also pushing work on finishing offline singleplayer, and expect it to become available in a limited beta mode by next week.

          Now, lets take a look at what out update 0.70 has in store:


          • Large number of server stability performance and improvements
          • Added the back-end work of the offline singleplayer – it`s still disabled, but now is a part of the client allowing us to do final testing on it
          • Fixed a number of issues with player being unable to enter vehicles
          • Fixed another issue with vehicles going missing
          • Fixed a number of issues with vehicles going missing – but still couple of situations left
          • When getting onto a vehicle it will now show the status of the vehicle, and who can use it - only the player, crew, or anybody.
          • Vehicle access can now be changed by using the PgDw button
          • Fixed the issue where crew members could not enter the vehicle sometimes and would get Hijack prompt instead of enter the vehicle
          • Vehicle in use can no longer be hacked on PvP servers
            Improved vehicle stealing mechanics on PvP servers with clear notifications
          • All consumable food and drink items now stack – please note – this will only effect new food items added to inventory
          • Player inventory will now be a lot more organized with various stack sorting
          • Made it a lot easier for new players to locate Tarphite Mine and Refinery on the planet
          • Gave a lot of additional tools to our moderators to help players
          • Moderators are now able to refund player lost items remotely, without having to meet the player at a certain location
          • Servers player chat will no longer show in the main menu when player is creating or selecting the character
          • Fixed various issues with grenades and their explosions

          Update 69 - Day Three Fixes

          Hey Everyone,

          From our small indie team we want to thank all of our players for your support and patience over the past couple of days.

          And we are back with our third daily update. We spent the past day on fixes across the board - entirely based on our players feedback. From audio and SFX work to player death loot and so much more. Thanks for all the reports - we hear you!

          In addition the outlaw system has also been reworked with wanted levels. We also added a number of quality-of-life improvements from mining status to low-fuel notifications.

          Also we have found and fixed a number of separate issues causing players to loose their vehicles – and there`s just one issue left to resolve, that we intend to have sorted by the morning. Meanwhile our moderators are available in-game chat to help, and new moderators just joined our team. Thanks for your understanding and your support. We expect the game to be in the great shape later this week. And offline singleplayer will be finally added to the game later this week as well.

          • Fixed a number of issues with vehicles going missing – but still couple of situations left
          • Vehicle access can now be changed by using the PgDw button
          • Fixed players being able to sometimes steal vehicles on PvE server (was responsible for some missing vehicles)
          • Reworked stealing vehicles mechanic for PvP gameplay – vehicles stolen are just temporary stolen for the thief to use - PvP only
          • Original owner of the vehicle can eventually track down the stolen vehicles and reclaim it - PvP only
          • Fixed various issues with players not being able to see their death loot to recover their items after dying
          • When player commits crimes – his or hers wanted level will go up
          • Wanted level is displayed at the top of the screen from 1 to 5 stars
          • When player has 3 stars or more NPC Mechs will attack player in towns and space stations
          • Fixed various issues with player wanted level not working or showing
          • A lot of work on the audio side of the game – sound effects and so on
          • Fixed various issues with some sounds being extremely loud
          • Fixed issues with some sound playing even if SFX sound is set all the way to zero
          • When mining, cutting trees e.t.c it will now show health points bar to show much resources is left in the object
          • Fixed a number of issues where some crafted items weight would be more than the components that go into it
          • Nav Point for death loot container is now overwhelmingly large – can`t miss it
          • Added several voice dialogue notifications when player is running low on fuel in space vehicles
          • Added fail-safes for players who sell or drop their spotter tool and can`t use it anymore
          • Fixed all instances where by some reasons players will not see navigation points
