The Albino Hunter

Superfluous Announcement is Superfluous

Arrrgggghhhh!!

So, I just posted this announcement, but Steam just recategorized it as "Cross Promotion". Now, categorizing it as "Cross Promotion" in and of itself is fine, however, because it's under "Cross Promotion", it won't show up in your Library Announcements.

Which is the stupidest thing ever. You'd think you'd want Cross Promotions to show up in the Library Announcements, but I digress.

This announcement only exists to serve to point you to the previous announcement, because what I wrote is kind of newsworthy. Let's hope this one doesn't get recategorized too.

Good day. ːsteamdeadpanː

Sequel Demo Open for Public Consumption!

So, there was some weird stuff that happened behind the scenes here, recently. See, in my last post, I asked if I should release the sequel demo either on December 16th or on December 23rd. Wasn't sure which, some people wanted it earlier, some people were okay with it coming out later.

Then I went into the Steam settings and stuff and realized that I could release it immediately! And so I did! The demo has technically been out since December 6th!

..."Technically."

See, while the demo has been out since December 6th, the Steam Store Page for the main application (the full game's App ID) wasn't released publicly yet. So, while the demo has been out for a while, the Steam Store glitched out on me, and refused to give me a link to the demo.

The last few days have been me going back and forth with the Steam Team, getting the Steam Store page up and running.

Long story short, the Steam Store doesn't glitch out on either of us anymore, and now we are all allowed Public access to the demo.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2239960
As you can see, but I put that the full game won't be released until 2055. That's because, after how stupidly long it took me to put the revamp back together, I don't realistically see myself being able to complete the game in any reasonable time-frame. I said 2055, but it would surprise me if I actually somehow managed to miss that deadline too.

What can I say? I'm working alone and I'm broke. My games have always been coming out of my pocket, and I have no idea how long it will take me to raise the money I need to make this as shiny as I want it to be.

So what can you do? Um... Play the demo? I dunno. I've never been a social person, so spreading the word might help as well... There's also that Optional Additional Payment System you can use to donate towards my endeavors, if you are so inclined.

Or, you know, if you don't have money, the most effective way you can help me out is by writing a review for the revamp... It doesn't even have to be positive. I need ten reviews in order for the revamp to show up as anything but a neutral score, and over the course of a year, I've barely managed to get five. So consider reviewing it, if you don't want spend anything, but still want the sequel to release before 2055.

Otherwise, yeah. I'm done. I'll keep working on this sequel in the background, but it obviously takes a back-seat to stuff happening in real life, and it won't get a commercial release until I can make everything look as pretty as it does in the revamp.

Until then...um...yeah. Enjoy the demo, I guess.

Sequel Demo News News

Alright, so I've raised enough funds to upload the sequel demo onto Steam! Thank you so much to all the kind people who helped me, who I am not going to list because I don't know how they feel about it! :D

I've been working on submitting the necessary information into Steam and it's going through the review process as we speak! And just in time for Christmas, too! :D

...Which got me wondering...should I upload the demo on the same day as the revamp, December 23rd? Right now I have it set for December 16th, because that's the closest date I'm allowed to upload it. I don't really care either way, I'm just wondering if I should be stylish and upload it on the one-year-anniversary of the Revamp, or if I should just get the thing out as soon as possible. Any thoughts?

P.S. People who helped me raise the funds, please let me know if and how you want to be listed. I put you guys in the credits, and don't know how much info you want me to give away. ;)

Toodles~

Sequel Demo Finally Avaliable!

Yeah! So, the sequel demo doesn't crash anymore during the final battle! That's a good thing! ːsteamhappyː

So, um, since I got a super, unprecedented amount of support during my last announcement in regards to the sequel demo, I guess we're going ahead with that donation system!

For those of you who weren't around last time, I basically said that I was hesitant to upload the sequel demo onto Steam because I would have to sink a $100 USD fee to purchase the Game's IP. Inspired by one person who reached out to me, I said that we could maybe try raising $100 USD by donation, instead.

..............................At least eight people commented, saying that they'd help. That was, like, six more people than I was expecting.

So, now that the bugs have been sorted out in the sequel demo, I'm willing to give that system a go! Just reach out to me via DM, and I'll be happy to sort this all out. I'm thinking of mainly sticking to Paypal, since that seems to be the most common method that would work for everybody. But, for the German fans who said that they couldn't use Paypal, then there's always that Optional Additional Payment System I set up a while ago! ːsteamdanceː

So here's to raising $100 USD! At least I think it's just $100. I would be really mad if my memory was really bad, and the Steam Fee turned out to be $200 or something. ːsteamdeadpanː Either way, if we raise more than $100 USD, then I might be able to reach out to my old artists and see about sprucing some of this up. At the very least, it'd be nice to get a Title Screen that isn't just a glorified sketch!

Regardless, I don't plan on making this puppy public for general consumption until after the $100 USD has been raised. After the funds have been raised, then we'll see about getting it out there, and after that, onto Steam.

Talk to you soon! ːtigerinablanketː

The Revamp's On Sale Again!

Sequel Demo Proposition

OKAY, SO... Kinda big news and not! And yes, I know that that is not particularly helpful, that's what the rest of this post is for. XD

So, yesterday, out of the blue, someone reached out to me, asking about the sequel demo and said that they were willing to pay me for it. I'm not naming names, since they wanted to stay anonymous, but they immediately offered me $30 for it. I was, of course, flabbergasted by this offer and blown away by the spontaneous generosity shown to me unprovoked, but that also got me thinking...

See, my biggest problem with uploading the demo to Steam would be the fee I'd need to pay to get the Sequel App ID purchased. That fee is $100 USD. So, rather than just sit on this demo for an unknown amount of time, I was thinking that maybe, if we raise $100 USD, then I can release the demo for you guys, guilt free.

Of course, I won't rip people off who do decide to donate or whatever--if you do help me raise the funds, you'll get immediate access to the demo. And, you know, if you guys think this is a totally sketchy deal, then I am totally fine with just pretending that I never asked you guys this in the first place. (Participation in this is 100% Optional.) But, $30 goes a long way towards raising $100... So, I just thought I would mention it might be worth a shot in case you are interested. :D

P.S. If I got the money today, the demo would not be uploaded to Steam for at least two weeks? That's because I would have to get the game green-lit by Steam Staff, and create a whole bunch of resources. I'm willing to hand out the demo for free before that (if the funds are raised), via dropbox or mediafire link.

Don't send me any money yet, as we still need to iron out one or two game-crashing bugs before I can even think about distributing the demo. But I just wanted to let you guys know what the plan is and timeframe you can hypothetically expect. :)

Either way, let me know what you guys think! :D Is this a good idea or a not-so-good idea? Comment below, or DM me if you're potentially interested!

In the meantime, enjoy this trailer I put together super quickly!

Let it stew in your mind while you consider if this venture is really worth investing in...

Sequel Demo Update News

So, um... It's not quite finished yet, but I'm pretty much done the demo for the sequel? Mostly. Been ironing out a couple of kinks...

...Thing is, I'm not entirely sure about distributing it? Like, a friend of mine has his game demo up here on Steam, and that's going great for him. However, I think I might have to pay a fee again to do the same here, but uh... Well, to be frank, I don't feel comfortable with that, after how much money I've lost making this revamp...

What are your thoughts, guys? I'm genuinely not sure what to do about all of this... :/

Revamp on Sale Again!

I was going to try and be super sneaky about this and try and get past the Steam bots. But that would be dishonest, and in some ways, it doesn't matter if this announcement doesn't show up in the Library Spotlight!
The Revamp just went on sale again, for the usual discount of 50% off!

...Because my mom doesn't want me dipping lower than 50%. >.>

My Epic Quest to Try and Maintain Some Level of Relevancy #5

Hello again.

You thought you had gotten rid of me, hadn't you?

Nope.

Um...

So how about that Super Mario Bros Movie Trailer? ːsteamsunnyː

Yeah, I don't have a lot to report. I've mostly been getting caught up in replaying Stardew Valley. See, there's this hilarious guy called James Veitch who did a TedTalk about scamming scam emailers. His first one is his most famous, but I personally like his second TedTalk better. (He also did that bit about the ducks.) I like him. He's funny. I want to make a story one day where he voices one of the characters, so that I basically have an excuse to write him into my story.

Anyway, I recently got into Stardew Valley again because I watched him do a Let's Play of it. It's an incomplete Let's Play, but it's still a fun Let's Play nonetheless.

...Yup. That is all. ːtigerinablanketː Now excuse me while I go back to playing Stardew Valley again. (On my Switch, for the record. I don't really play games on my laptop much.)

Toodle-loo~

By the way...I have a book. I know that none of you have read it. I can tell...

Oh. And I drew a picture today. Coloured it, actually. I drew it two days ago. Colouring takes me a while.

Bye~

Revamp Sale, Book, and Sequel Demo?

Alright, so, a couple of things...

{Revamp}
The Revamp's on sale again. Why? Because it's Labour Day and Steam says sales have to last for a week, so...taaaddaaaaa~
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1832380/The_Albino_Hunter_Revamp/?beta=0
There will also be an update for the last Maze Monster coming up sometime within the next month, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

{Book}
For those six of you who were mildly interested in my book, I've decided to post it on Amazon. It will be up on September 15th, if I don't run into any stupid complications. Why September 15th? I dunno. The government of Canada wanted a digital record of my book, and when asked what day it should be made available, I picked September 15th. Because it's the middle of the month and I had hoped that I would have this whole process figured out by then. So that's why.

{Sequel?}
So, um...on the side, I've been working a bit on a sequel to The Albino Hunter™. I started a little while ago, but I decided that publishing books is boring, so I've been tinkering away on it instead. Because motivation is fickle. I might have a demo worth showing you guys at some point in the future...but...well... The game itself probably won't be released until a much later date. Like, years. It took me six years to get the stupid Revamp together, so expect a minimum of that.

That is all.
