We have released another new update today! This update adds some more stuff for the player such as a new weapon, and special items that can temporarily buff some of your stats. There is also a new special entity that pretends to be an NPC! Also, to celebrate Halloween we have added a special "Pumpkinhead" playable skin and pumpkin food item!
Full changes: -Time spent alive in real-world hours and minutes are shown at the end of the run -A new leaderboard for the longest (real world) time added -"Skin Stealer" entity added - this entity looks like a random normal player with a random name that roams the backrooms pretending to be another player. They have a low spawn chance but can spawn in ANY level. When you are close however they will charge you and transform into a hostile skin stealer entity. The skin stealer in impostor form looks like an ordinary player, but there are some very SLIGHT deformities that you will eventually figure out and can look out for... -Achievement for encountering a skin stealer transform from an impostor NPC -Lead pipe weapon added -protein bar item added, temporarily boosts melee damage -protein bar achievement -adrenaline shot item added, temporarily boosted defense -adrenaline shot achievement added -A special "pumpkin head" playable skin for Halloween added! -pumpkin food item added -Iron bars and locked doors are removed at the start of levels to stop soft locks -Fixed a bug where coin pickup sound and candle blow-out volume weren't affected by SFX slider in settings -Fixed a bug that caused vendors not to be cleared between floors leading to some appearing in strange places -Various smaller bug fixes such as typos/graphical glitches etc

New Content Update!

We've released another update! We've been focusing on adding additional content recently, mainly levels and entities, so this update introduces another new level and entity, as well as some other changes!
Full changes: -Added a new "castle theme" type level -Added a new entity -Added achievement for discovering the castle theme -Added a slight cooldown to entity attacks -Unique sound for picking up Backcoins -Total Backcoin collected in a run shown on the death screen -Added jumping sounds for both male/female voices -Fixed presents not spawning items (usually in multiplayer) -fix text bug in which making it into the city first time shows a message saying you're in the woods -various smaller fixes/tweaks (typos, some objects flickering etc..)

We've just released a big update adding two new levels, two new entities, items and professions and regional forms of some entities, and more!
Full changes: -Added a new "fire-themed" level based of a volcano interior -Added a new "snow/ice themed" level based on snowy wilderness -An exclusive entity for the fire level -An exclusive entity for the snowy level -An achievement for discovering the fire level -An achievement for discovering the snow level -Regional forms of gargoyles for both new levels -Super almond water was added, a rarer but more efficient version of the original -An achievement for drinking super almond water -Thirst drops quicker in the fire level due to heat -Hunger drops quicker in the snowy level due to cold (more calories burned to stabilize body temperature) -Cannibal buff: eating corpses also recovers some sanity and slight hydration (thirst) -New profession: Salesman - vendor prices are reduced by 40% -New profession: Banker - find more back coins throughout the backrooms and from slain entities -Snowy levels have igloos that can be entered and sometimes have items in it -fixed bug where the "maximum health" prompt still shows when using health items -Message when first entering negativity levels fixed from showing if the prompt is off -Fixed bug where repair/upgrade kits spawned tilted -add custom dialogue for heat+cold level on entry (won't show if "Disable Start prompts" is active in settings)

We have just released another update!
This new update focuses on adding a much-requested and entirely new game mechanic - vendor/friendly entities that can sell you items. This entity can appear on any level and has a chance to spawn near campfires. A new level and entity and some other changes are also introduced.
-A new "City" style level theme with skyscrapers and roads -First "friendly" NPC entity, a Faceling that has a chance to appear at campfires and can sell you items -Backrooms currency: Backcoin, is used to buy items from the vendor. Appears in three values, yellow = 1, blue = 2, red = 5 -Slain entities now can drop a few Backcoins in addition to loot -small chests can also contain backcoin -Added an achievement for collecting 10 backcoins -Added an achievement for finding the city level -Added an achievement for buying an item -Added a new entity native to the city level -Chef profession now starts with some food items -Various smaller tweaks/fixes

We have released a new update which is now live. This update focused mostly on fixing many bugs that have been reported recently. A new item has also been introduced.
Full changes: -Added new item: "Upgrade Kit". Increases a weapon's maximum durability -New achievement added for upgrading an item -Upgraded weapons have a star symbol on their inventory slot -Fixed a bug where dropping repair kits caused them to disappear -Fixed the Obituary screen bug where results were not saving -Fixed a bug causing cameras to see you through walls -Fixed a bug causing partygoers to frequently push you ot of the boundaries of the map -Fixed a bug causing only the host to get items from chests in multiplayer -Fixed a bug causing only the host to get loot drops from slain entities in multiplayer -Fixed a bug that caused the hammerman to have a crawling animation on positive levels (should only be on negative) -Fixed a bug where the water may not show on the boundaries of sewer levels -Fixed some items missing inventory descriptions including bread, repair kit -Fixed a bug where the player's reaction to killing an entity still plays even if disabled in the settings -Fixed a bug where dubious liquid dropped would turn to antivenom -Various other miscellaneous/smaller bug fixes (typos, GFX glitches, etc)

We have just released another weekly update! Since the last few updates added a lot of new hazards (ranged entities, status effects etc), this update adds some new things that can aid you.
Full changes: -Added a "repair kit" item, which allows you to repair a weapon back to max durability -Weapons show their durability on the inventory -Added a new leaderboard for total entities killed in a run -Added a "dubious liquid" item. Upon consumption, it has a completely random effect that could be good or bad. One good effect is that it has a chance to increase your maximum health by 10 for that run, up to a total of 150. -Added chocolate bar food item, restores a small amount of hunger but can be stacked as they are small and compact -Camera plays a "shutter" sound when it stops you -Added milk item that restores a small amount of hunger alongside a thirst -Updated the "combine" button text on inventory font as it was different from the rest -Added an achievement for consuming the dubious liquid -Added an achievement for repairing a weapon -Fixed a bug where your run statistics (times chased, damage dealt, etc) were not saving and loading correctly -Fixed a bug where the forest entry dialogue still plays even if disabled in the settings -Updated the antivenom sprite -Updated the teddy bear sprite -Fixed a bug where saving next to bars/doors and loading would remove them -Drinking SFX plays on consuming the antivenom -Fixed a bug where bandages were no longer spawning -Added bread food item -Fixed a bug where hunger and thirst could exceed the maximum values via an exploit -Fixed a bug where campfires were not burning players in multiplayer -dubious liquid added to entity death loot

We have released another new update. This update focuses on not only adding some new entities but adjusting and improving the existing ones to give them new abilities and actions.
Full Changes: -New status effect: Bleed - damage over time and drips a blood trail. -New status effect: Burn - player set ablaze and takes fire damage. -New status effect: Paranoia - sanity drops rapidly. Frequent hallucinations. -bandage/medkit also cures bleed -New entity that can throw fire at you -New entity that can casts a weird aura at you inflicting you with paranoia -Some old entities have been given ranged attacks, status inflictions, and other tweaks -Some entities can now throw rocks/stones at you -An added achievement for curing bleed -Added an achievement for surviving being set alight -Campfires set you ablaze when standing on them -Almond water now also cures all statuses -Sanity pills also cure paranoia -an option was added in the settings menu to disable start-up messages and the messages shown when discovering an item for the first time (i.e "what is fresh fruit doing down here etc) -Fixed a bug where closing inventory while dragging an item out of the slot will leave it stuck and unusable -Some status effects can be inflicted by entities' melee attacks also -Burn disappears in water levels -Fixed bug where two chests can spawn inside or overlap each other -Other minor small tweaks and fixes

Changes: -New level theme added -New entity with new behavior, can do range attacked by throwing a clump of poison at you (can also melee) -Added status effects, with the first one being "Poisoned". Poison deals damage over time. Can be cured via item or will eventually fade, but takes longer depending on how poisoned you've been -Added "antivenom" item that cures poison instantly. Found on floors, chests, or safes -Fixed chest bug in multiplayer where items spawn outside big chest -Fixed settings not saving when applying in a multiplayer game -An added achievement for curing poison-the sixth ending is now "Death by sickness", which is caused by poison (in the next update will also be caused by other ailments such as disease) -Fixed a bug that causes pausing in single player to not pause sometimes -fixed various typos -fixed a bug where the buzzing sound was playing in the hedge maze theme -fixed a bug where entities sometimes deal huge damage in one hit -Sometimes when trying to join/create a room there may be connectivity issues with steam that stopped people from connecting without restarting the game.
