As we near the full release (it's looking like early May) we'll be doing updates weekly.
This week's update includes character portraits and tons of various fixes and balance adjustments to gameplay.
As always any feedback is greatly appreciated!

February Update!
Hey guys,
We humbly apologize for being so late with this update. However, we do think it was well worth the wait as we march towards full release.
The amount of new stuff in this update (compared to the last one) is staggering.
Nearly, all the missions (except for the last two) are now in the game. We've finished writing and VO recording and that's also been implemented! We finished the cockpit visuals for the COD Fighter along with all new HUD for both ships. We put in a new COD Carrier ship and it's massive! In fact, its the largest ship in the game by a fairly wide margin. Fleet mode has been overhauled again - you can now choose from multiple Fleet Commanders at the start, upgrade your fleet as you progress, and so much more. It's almost an entire game in and of itself (we're still not done with this mode though). There have been a tremendous amount of bug fixes, game optimizations, balancing tweaks, AI improvements, VFX work, and the list goes on and on.
We know there are still bugs though so if you guys find any don't hesitate to post on these forums. Look for probably two updates per week starting next week until we take it out of greenlight.
In future updates, look for completely redesigned sound FX, improved visual FX, the final two missions, achievements, and maybe even Steam Trading Cards.
We're almost to the finish line!
Thank you everyone for being so patient. If you guys like what you see and play please don't hesitate to tweet and/or tell your friends about TBoS.

11/3/2014 Update...
Wow, this past month has been a bit of a whirlwind.
As you can probably see by now we're rebranding the game to "The Battle of Sol". This slight name change was done to further separate us from the original game. Why?
A couple of reasons but the primary one is that people were getting confused between the two. Hopefully, as word spreads this will slowly change.
So what's new in this update?
- Missions 3 and 6 have been completely overhauled.
- UCS Capital Ships are larger.
- Lots of balancing and bug-fixes.
- Fleet mode has been completely overhauled. Players now truly command a fleet a ships as you jump from sector-to-sector in search of fuel and salvage. We've incorporated a 3rd person (ship?) camera and you can now issue orders to your various ships to attack, launch fighters, repair, etc. Our goal for Fleet mode is to offer a very different, more systemic experience from the main campaign. Please check it out and offer as much feedback as you can. The mode still needs a fair bit of work but what's there should be enough to get a good sense of what we're aiming for.
As always please use the forums to let us know of any issues you run into and, of course, feedback everything that has changed!

10/7/2014 Game Update...
Hey everyone,
We just pushed a fairly large update to the game. Here are the notes:
- Missions 06 and 07 have been added. These are still in what I would consider an Alpha state so please let us know if you find any bugs.
- Lots of other misc. improvements across the game.
- Fleet mode has been given special attention in this update. We've greatly expanded upon the number of scenarios, added Leaderboard (!) support, and lots of UI tweaks and improvements. In fact, you can access this mode directly from the main menu. But we're not done with this mode yet as the next update will incorporate a Salvage system where you earn Salvage from destroying enemy ships to spend on Upgrades and Repairs for your ship and your Fleet.
- Fixed a resolution issue
- Added the COD Fighter cockpit. This is still in a very rough state but we wanted to get in the game sooner rather than later.
Lastly, we need your feedback on Fleet Mode (and the Campaign too). Everyone's voice counts and we've already made significant improvements to the game based on feedback received. Also, if you do like what you see please don't hesitate to give us a positive user rating and spread the word through various social networks!
Thanks!

9/24/2014 Update...
Hey everyone,
We just uploaded an update. Here are the notes:
-- Improvements to Prologue Mission 2 flow.
-- Afterburner works while in Strafe to go faster in the direction you're heading (before it kicked you out of Strafe).
-- You can now adjust energy regen rates in the HADES.
-- A few fixes to enemy AI behaviors.
Next patch will include 2 new missions, joystick fixes, and a few other odds and ends.
9/11/14 Update Notes
- Increased speed when using thrusters
- Starfield remains on using thrusters
- Increased potency of Hades bullets
- Vastly improved AI Wingmen behaviors vs. capital ships.
- Added "Everyone" to Wingman Orders system so that you can order all 3 of them to perform an action
- Added repair and rearm to Wingman Orders. This tells them to resupply their missiles and / or repair their ship to 100%
- Moved Wingman Orders button to Back on XBox control pad. You will probably need to manually remap it or delete your user settings file.
- Fixed various collision issues on both COD Frigates.
- Misc. improvements and/or polish issues.
Today we're releasing part 1 of this month's massive update.
Build notes:
Major Features
- Based on feedback we've changed Slide to what we're now calling Strafe and, furthermore, made it a toggle. When Strafe is activated throttle is turned off but you now can use manual thrusters to move left, right, up and down. We want your feedback on this new system!
- 2 new missions! Our missions now feature persistent ship system (meaning health and even which ships lived or died is kept track of - and may or may not appear in future missions!). Also, some missions now feature multiple maps!
- New pilot-able ship! We're adding missions that have you playing for our antagonists, the Children of Dawn! These set of missions actually are tightly integrated into the main story and allows everyone to get to know the enemy faction a little bit better. Players pilot the COD Fighter. We're still working on the cockpit and HUD UI so this stuff is very much WIP. However, the ship's handling and weapon systems are very different from the UCS ship you were piloting.
- Lots of misc. balance stuff. Most every mission has been heavily tweaked (and this will continue during EA).
- New Orders system! This system doesn't become available until Mission 03 but when it does you'll be able to give orders to your Wingman!
- So many bugs and/or polish stuff!
We'll probably do a couple of more minor updates between now and when we release Part 2 of this month's massive update - the open world module!
As always feedback is definitely needed and welcomed with open arms!
