Yesterday we released a new developer build in the closed alpha branch. Since most people don't have access to the branch, we would like to briefly explain the changes that have just been released in the test. However, these are only small changes. Since the options in the main menu are becoming more extensive and we now have a new category due to the test in CO-OP mode, we have added the Multiplayer category in the options in the main menu. This category will only be activated in the public branch when the CO-OP mode is published. Nevertheless, the test in the level tutorial is currently continuing.
Our next steps
Starting today, we are working on visual improvements in the main menu so that it remains clear. In addition to the visual improvements, expanding the tutorial, bug fixes and developing new levels, we have planned to create a first gameplay video. However, it will take a long time until the levels are developed satisfactorily. Please be patient in this regard.
In addition to the next steps, we have a lot of innovations planned this year.

Dev – Blog #10
Hello ghost hunters,
Today we are writing a little dev blog with our progress so that you always know what we are currently working on.
Today we released a new development version for our internal testers. In these changes we started to further develop the tutorial. In the development version, dialogs are now displayed that explain the basics of the game. We have also given the spirit its initial abilities to respond to the EMF and hunt you. However, the configurations for hunting and the EMF reader must be configured correctly. Finally, we heard the length of the battery. The battery no longer runs out so quickly in the development version. We are also working on new objects for the planned levels. We will add some more features in the development version before releasing the next version. We will inform you more about this in the next posts.

The walls have been remodeled and repositioned so that there are no longer any extinguishers.

The light switches with the lamps and the generator are now linked so that the entire circuit now works.

Dev – Blog #9
Hello ghost hunters,
We have now reached the last month of the year and we want to reveal a short and preliminary summary for 2023 and our preliminary plans for 2024. All we want to say here is that this is a preliminary report and not yet a final report. Plans for 2024 are also only preliminary. We have already experienced that minor bugs often lead to unexpected delays for our small team. If anything changes to our report at the turn of the year or if there are general changes to our plans, we will be happy to let you know via a dev blog.
The year 2023
The year 2023 went well, apart from small delays. We organized smaller discount campaigns and events that were well received by you. We had small discussions with you and received some requests for improvement and feedback, which we would of course like to implement. We have been working intensively with the KOOP since October 2023. Unfortunately, between the end of November and the beginning of December, we realized that the KOOP was taking more time than originally planned.
The year 2024
The Basics of the Game
Since the basics of the game (gameplay, player animations, sounds, and much more) have not yet been fully implemented into the game, we will be working hard on these mechanics. Unfortunately, the basis of the game is very extensive, so we still need a little more time.
The CO-OP mode
Since the CO-OP mode continues to be an important part of the game, we will continue to focus on the CO-OP mode in 2024. The basics have already been developed in 2023, so that the CO-OP mode can be released in 2024, at least that is the current plan. We have also planned to work more closely with you in the area of CO-OP mode. We want to create our own branch especially for the KOOP test. This will be a closed testing area and you all have the chance to apply for it. We want to run the KOOP test in several test phases because we want the KOOP mode to work really well for you. We have planned the following test phases:
Internal and very small tester groups
Extension to the test groups for streamers
Extension for everyone with an application
Since our branch will be encrypted with a password, we will give you the password after your application and if we have accepted you.
Events
Like in the current year, we have written events on our list. The events will take place in single player mode and in CO-OP. We will let you know which events we have planned as soon as possible.
Levels
We have received some suggestions for levels that we think are very good. We will continue to implement these in 2024. Among them is a metro, temple, church, cemetery, different size of buildings and much more. The levels will have different obstacles that will challenge you. Cooperative play in CO-OP mode will be helpful if you have to solve certain obstacles and tasks as a team that can only be solved as a team. That's why only certain tasks that can only be solved in a team will only be unlocked in CO-OP mode or these tasks will be simplified if we also unlock them in single player.
Implementation on PS5
We also considered implementing it on another platform. We have been cooperating with Sony since the end of 2022 and have therefore taken the opportunity to consider implementing it on the PlayStation. We try to eliminate general bugs that already existed on the Windows version in the PlayStation before the release, so that you don't have the same bugs on the PlayStation at the time of release. We can't yet say exactly whether it will be implemented for the PS4. We will announce this shortly.

Dev – Blog #8 Information about the COOP
Hello ghost hunters,
We have had new information about COOP mode for a while now. We reported on the COOP mode for the first time in the article The first COOP tests have begun. Unfortunately, our plugin did not work to our complete satisfaction at the time. We had to quickly stop the test back then. That's why we decided to completely replan the COOP mode. We agreed that we would not develop the COOP mode using a plugin but would use the interface first-hand and not from a third-party provider. The disadvantage is that the development to COOP takes longer, but the advantage is that we have more options. We can use the functions better and design the COOP better. We have developed a lot on the COOP recently. That was the reason why something quieter has been in development since Halloween. We have now developed the basic building blocks for the network. We are now starting the next major construction phase. Creating a lobby and searching for a lobby. It will still take some time until the COOP is fully implemented into the game. We cannot give an exact time at this point. We try not to keep you waiting that long. We have designed and received plans ourselves on what the COOP should be like and are trying to develop the best solution for the COOP. Once the COOP is released, we expect some improvements to be developed. As soon as we have further information about the COOP, we will be happy to inform you.

Announcement for PlayStation
Hello ghost hunter,
For many it now comes as a surprise. We have been planning the implementation on the PlayStation for a long time and now the time has come to officially announce The Ghost - Task of the Ghost Hunters for the PlayStation.
Our release is planned for 2024. We are trying to learn from the mistakes we have already made for the Windows version and try to fix these bugs until the release on the PlayStation. We will even work on the graphics. We will try to continue to fix and improve the graphics in the near future. There are currently slightly more graphics problems on the PlayStation than on the Windows version. That should change.
