December Version Update Announcement

Dear Heroes,

Long time no see! It has been over 40 days since the official release of The Matchless Kungfu. Now, it’s time to bring you the promised updates! The first medium-to-large-scale update since the official release is finally here!

Focus After This Update


Following this update, we will concentrate our efforts on optimizing NPC AI, improving game performance, and further developing identity-based gameplay mechanics.

Next year, we will launch public test builds for game testing. All players who have purchased The Matchless Kungfu will automatically unlock the The Matchless Kungfu Test Server tool in their libraries. Details regarding the test content and the availability of the tool will be shared in future Flying Pigeon Messages (announcements).



We plan to add Russian and German localization (optimized machine translation) in the next major update. If you'd like to help us with translations in other languages, feel free to join our Discord and contact our community managers.

Summary of Update Content



Title System
The Title System has been introduced, allowing players to earn and display unique nicknames that reflect their martial identity.

NPC Personality Traits
NPCs now feature diverse personality tendencies. Unique combinations of traits make NPCs more distinctive and lifelike, enhancing interaction and immersion.


New Skills and Mnemonics
This update introduces new skills and mnemonics. Additionally, new martial arts experts, including those with Transcendence-level mnemonics, are now available for players to encounter and challenge.

Sect Rule Optimization
The rules and mechanics of sects have been refined. Players can now apply for enforcement authority, enabling them to perform law enforcement duties within their sects.

Resource Sharing in Construction
When constructing or producing items, players can now directly utilize resources from all player-owned chests located in the same tile.

Musical Instrument Gameplay
New melodies have been added for playing the qin (zither). Players will now hear beautiful music when performing.

Sleep to Skip Time
A new feature has been added to allow players to skip time by sleeping, making gameplay more flexible and convenient.



Detailed Update Introduction



Title System


Players can now equip their Transcendence-level mnemonics as titles in the left-hand section of the skills interface. The equipped mnemonic’s name will become the player’s title.





NPCs with Transcendence-level mnemonics will automatically equip their most recently acquired mnemonic as their title.

Title Inclinations
Titles will have various inclinations, represented by different colors. NPCs with different personalities will react uniquely to these inclinations.

For example:
Upright individuals will gain 20 Disdain upon seeing an Evil-inclined title.
Conversely, they will gain 20 Admiration upon seeing a Heroic-inclined title.

NPC Personality Tags
Newly generated characters will now feature personality tags.

Impact on NPC Behavior
Different personalities will influence how NPCs approach situations and interact with others.

Personality determines the NPC’s subjective behavior.
Reputation represents how others objectively evaluate the NPC.
Future Updates for Personality Effects

Future updates will add more gameplay effects based on personalities.
For instance:
Compassionate NPCs who work as doctors will offer 50% discounted treatment prices.
They will proactively assist players in poor health.

Open World Enhancements


Invite NPCs to Drink or Relax in Hot Springs

NPCs who join a player’s team can now be invited to drink or relax in hot springs. This helps them recover Spirits and alleviate Hidden Ailments.
Each decoration item has a limit on the number of NPCs it can accommodate.
Players need to cover the costs when inviting NPCs. Fees will be deducted immediately upon invitation; insufficient funds will prevent invitations.
Players do not need to pay fees when using their own table decorations, but they must prepare wine and cooked dishes in advance. Each NPC consumes 1 wine and 1 dish during their visit.






Feeding Function in Help Menu



A new “Feed” button has been added to the Help Menu.

Players can feed items to NPCs with a Favorability of 100 or higher.

Sect-Related Enhancements



Post-Elimination Actions

After destroying an opposing faction, players can immediately choose whether to inherit the abilities of that faction.
NPCs from defeated factions will apply to join the victorious faction (randomly assigned).
Sect Rules System Optimization

Adjustments ensure that sect rules are only violated if the player is caught by NPCs.
Players can now apply for the authority to enforce sect rules themselves.

Construction and Crafting Optimization



Resource Sharing Within the Same Location
Players can now select resources from their backpack or the inventory of any chests they own within the same location when producing items or constructing buildings.



New Feature: Sleep to Skip Time



A new feature allows players to skip time by sleeping.



Lute Music Enhancement



New lute music has been added! Now, playing the lute will produce music.

20241230 V1.0.17.0 update

New Additions
1.Two New Kungfu Skills: These two new skills can be learned from the Nethershade Cult Salute.

2.Six New Inner Kungfu Mnemonics: These mnemonics will be carried by special NPCs, and will appear in specific maps when conditions are met. By engaging in a sparring session and winning, players can acquire the corresponding mnemonic.

3.New Character Traits: Nine categories of character traits have been introduced:
Material Desires (Generous, Stingy)
Personality (Loyal, Devious)
Approach to Tasks (Calm, Impulsive)
Social Behavior (Outgoing, Aloof)
Dealing with Situations (Compassionate, Ruthless)
Daily Life (Passionate, Introverted)
Communication (Straightforward, Cunning)
Behavior (Humble, Arrogant)
Dealing with Others (Forgiving, Despicable)
4.Each NPC may have different numbers of character traits, which reflect deviations from the norm in specific directions. These traits come with corresponding functions and effects. In the next AI update, we will base NPC behavior on these character traits, making their actions more aligned with their personalities and adding more life to the martial arts world.

5.Flower Name Feature: When players acquire an Inner Kungfu mnemonic, they can equip it in the equipment screen to gain a corresponding Flower Name. Flower Names come with tendencies, displayed in different colors depending on the tendency. NPCs will have different reactions based on the personality and reputation of the player, leading to changes in attitudes towards the player’s Flower Name. We will be adding more gameplay features related to Flower Names in future updates.

6.Faction Defeat and Inheritance: After defeating another faction in the game, a message via Flying Pigeon will prompt the player with the option to immediately inherit the faction’s abilities.

7.Two New Healing Items: These new items are designed for healing players after their health has been increased in later stages of the game.

8.New NPC Feeding Option: Players can now feed NPCs while they are in a normal state. Currently, you can feed NPCs with food items (except for poop) and healing items.

9.Invite to Drink or Hot Springs: Players can invite NPCs to drink or soak in hot springs by interacting with the corresponding items. Please note that if the items belong to others, a fee is required. If the items are your own, you will need to prepare the corresponding items, such as food and drink. For example, inviting NPCs to eat will consume 1 drink and 1 dish per NPC.

10.Sleep and Skip Time Feature: You can now skip up to 12 hours of game time by using the sleep function.

11.Law Enforcement System: Once a player joins a sect and becomes an Inner Disciple, they can apply to the Elders for law enforcement privileges. If a fellow disciple breaks the sect’s rules, the player can talk to them and enforce the sect’s laws. Beyond strict enforcement, players can also choose to extort the offenders. We will continue to improve this system and expand the available gameplay options in future updates.

Optimization
1. Optimized the production function, now players can schedule all the items in their own boxes on the plot when producing props. That is to say, if there are boxes for you to store materials in the local area, you don't need to carry them with you and can still proceed with production.
2. We have preliminarily iterated the sect function and redone the sect taboo system. Now all NPC sects will generate corresponding sect taboos during generation. When a player violates a sect taboo, the elders in the sect will come to enforce the law.
3. We have made initial iterations for playing the piano, and now the five tones of playing the piano have been changed to five ancient guzheng songs. We will continue to iterate this feature and add new piano playing methods in the future.

The focus of development in December is to add some unique skills, tips, optimize some life gameplay and sect related content, and add a flower name system. When players obtain the cultivation tips, they can equip and inherit flower names. Flower names tend to have four tendencies: chivalry, strangeness, madness, and evil. In subsequent versions, NPCs will change their attitude towards players based on their flower name preferences. And in the December version, we will add personality tags to NPCs, anchoring their actions through multiple personality tags, laying the foundation for future AI refactoring design.

1. Add a function to resolve grievances, click on NPC to view relationships, and select the NPC with whom you have a grudge to display the View Relationships button on the left side. Resolving grievances can be achieved through five methods: reasoning, enticement, coercion, favoritism, and appeasement. Different methods have varying effects on NPCs of different reputations. The depth of animosity between NPCs can also reduce the success rate of players resolving grievances. This feature will continue to be adjusted in the future, adding and optimizing new branches. Provide a functional gameplay foundation for AI optimization of future NPCs.

Optimized the situation where a player's page would leave a level 1 menu when exiting the social page, and now it will be closed directly.

20241118 V1.0.9.0 update

**New Features**
1. Added a reset function to the *Bloodline* page. By pressing the default hotkey (R) on a selected bloodline, players can reset it to 0, reclaiming the bloodline points. This addresses the issue where players cannot undo point allocation if they run out of bloodline points.

**Optimizations**
1. Optimized the triggering method of *Main Quests*. Now, main quests (*Important Tasks*) can only be triggered within the *Wilderness Realm*.
2. The *Wilderness Realm* can no longer be deleted, only reset. For players who have already deleted the *Wilderness Realm*, their first world will inherit its unique properties, allowing main quests to proceed.
3. Players can now seek promotion within their sect by consulting the elder. However, to advance to the sect leader position, they must still consult the current leader.

**Fixes**
1. Fixed incorrect text on some items.
2. Resolved an issue where *Copper Poles* and *Iron Poles* appeared on the construction page but could not be built. These will now properly remain hidden.
3. Fixed a UI misalignment issue caused by adding affixes to equipment.
4. Addressed the incompatibility between *Dream Bubble of Sweet Words* and *Bodhisattva’s Wish*, which would cancel each other out and prevent synthesis.
5. Fixed the issue where the bookshelf allowed copying the *Human Worm Nest Method*, which is not permitted for transcription.
6. Corrected non-functional status text; NPCs recruited by players will no longer contribute money to the sect. Sect income will now depend on the tiles occupied.
7. Fixed incorrect responses from NPCs when asked about the conditions for *Sage* mastery.
8. Resolved an issue where the sect could not be promoted if a character captured by a *Spirit Servant* was the sect leader.
9. Added explanatory text for items that increase *True Qi*. When players consume items like *Great Restoration Pills*, the *True Qi* gained will gradually diminish over time.
10. Fixed an issue where reloading a save would cause *Mnemonics* to become nonfunctional.
11. Addressed a bug where the *Maple Villa* doctor's dialogue would cause an infinite placement of *Maple Villa*.
12. Fixed missing text boxes when inheriting certain items.
13. Added new error messages for *Heaven’s End Palace* enhancements and adding acupoints. These messages now correctly explain why players cannot enhance or add acupoints (e.g., the number of additional acupoints is limited to one per identity, with a maximum of four).
14. Fixed an issue where *Dispel Gu Art* could not properly remove worms from NPCs.
