Yesterday I was able to start working on better hit reactions, please let me know your thoughts. And now I will start working on adding interrupting hurt animations, dodging animations and a faster block system for opponents.

  • Made arms longer for long limbed bois and girls.

  • Made crouch height shorter and faster.

  • Fixed one of Shaman attacks being too fast.

Apologies, I still wasn’t able to start improving the combat/AI. And I want to test adding Fog to the game instead of Darkness, which might take a few hours or a day.


Bug fixes and Improvements


  • Fixed player hands jumping around and making a ton of noise when colliding with objects.

  • Added more Video details in the Tutorial scene regarding how Guns work.

  • For guns such as AR15s(American style rifle), the player has to use the Trigger button to cock it, otherwise if there is a sight on the gun, the player will keep grabbing the Sight instead of the cocking handle.

  • Changed a little how the sockets/pockets work. For a player, the sockets will have a glass sphere appearance(Got the idea from Hotdogs, Horseshoes and Handgrenades). For the other player, it will actually look like the player has the gun “attached” to his hips. Making it look better instead of having it floating slightly in front of them.

I also was supposed start working on the AI/Opponents/Combat/Animations today, however I had an issue with the resizing of the guns.

Before I decreased the size of only the player character, however that caused some tiny issues, but manly I did not like the results, so instead I resized all the guns that I thought needed to be bigger, and that took the whole day.

I will be talking about the bugs/improvements fixed/made since the Christmas Sitrep, the results of the votes for what I should be working on for the next months(maybe around 3 months).

And quickly talk about the update I released today.


Gameplay improvements and Bugs Fixed


  • Made it so that players can press the Grip button to double grip guns and cock it. For small guns such as pistols, you have to cock it with the Trigger button, to avoid accidentally swapping hands. There are 2 current issues with that, for now I cannot make guns that aren’t small be able to cock it with the Trigger button as well and when a gun has a sight on, the player can accidentally grab the sight instead of cocking it or swapping hands.

  • Made the player smaller, because guns felt small. Thanks Shadow for the good tip, instead of spending a couple days making all guns bigger, I instead made the player smaller.

  • When a player is damaged, now controllers will vibrate a lot.

  • Bug fixes and Improvements

  • Fixed when a player was standing over a knocked down opponent and being launched into the air when the opponent got back up.

  • Removed the body parts ragdoll sounds that happened when players touched the walls or objects (still happen with hands).

  • Fixed death portal sometimes not appearing underneath opponent.

  • Removed the side slug slots for the Benelli shotgun

  • Added option to change to controller based locomotion direction… Direction based controller?... You point the controller and it will walk where the controller is pointing. Got it.

  • Fixed not being able to grab the G2 Pistol magazine from the gun.

  • Fixed sometimes opponents spawning very close to the starting room door, and then trying to get in and attack the players. Now they will spawn further away.

  • Fixed when a player opened the starting room door and the door didn’t move.

  • Decreased the chance of an opponent hurt sound triggering by 33%.

  • Fixed fists sometimes continue making “woosh” noises even while hands were open.

  • Made grab indicator slightly bigger.

  • Fixed sometimes opponents spawning very close to the starting room door, and then trying to get in and attack the players. Now they will spawn further away.

  • Made knocked opponent ragdoll precision about 100% better, but holy crap… That was a lot of work again…

  • Fixed medkit sometimes not reviving your buddies.

  • Fixed outside walls(with blinders) having a gap at the bottom.

  • Optimised Login Scene.

  • Made melee haptic feedback stronger.

  • Made opponent run and attack speed slower.

  • Made opponents spawn further from the starting room.

  • Fixed(possibly) big orc with a shield walking with arm stuck behind the back

Now! Let’s talk about votes, I like how you all were voting really smart, almost everything in the list seemed important.

And what I will be working on for the next few months is:


  • Improving AI and opponents.
  • Adding different enemy types.
  • Adding a Boss and maybe a Miniboss.
  • And adding different Maze Themes/Styles.






This all seems very important, and I believe I will be spending most of my time improving the AI. I have been learning that it’s more important for players to have fun than for the game to be difficult (in VR at least). So I will make opponents less spongy and make the combat feel more realistic, such as if you stab an Orc in the face, it will be killed right away, however to make it more difficult, I will simply put more opponents to fight you. The problem with that is that if there are more opponents roaming The Maze, then the FPS will start to drop… But yesterday I had an Eureka moment(is that how you write that?) to fix this issue.

So the next months are gonna be looking like this.


  • Improving opponents animation, how damaging them feels and how parrying attacks feels.
  • Adding different Maze Themes with the “Nostalgia” Theme.
  • Adding a solution to make the game difficult without making opponents more spongy. How I will do this will be a secret for now… But very very exciting…And it will take most of my time.
  • Adding a Boss and maybe a MiniBoss. It will be a closed room, and the player will have to beat the boss to continue moving forward, such as other Roguelites.
  • Adding more opponents, by this point I will check how the customers are feeling, because a lot of things will have changed by then.

Suggestions for the upcoming vote



  • Here are the suggestions that I gathered until now mixed with some of my, if you feel something is missing, please let me know:

  • Add gun sight lasers

  • Add current amount of exp and currency gained during run

  • Add a merchant where you can sell and buy things(that will change how the game works a lot, in a good way in my opinion)

  • Different light sources such as flashlights, flaming torch, mythical light sources.

  • Different enemy types.

  • Spray or chemical light to mark places that you already have been in the Maze.

  • Night vision helmet/googles.

  • Make a better socket/pocket system.

  • Add equipable armor(it will be non visual on the character, only will increase stats).

  • Instead of having a dark Maze, it will be brighter and have more color.

  • Add a boss at the end of the run and maybe a mini boss in between runs.

  • Add more different Maze styles, so there is more variety in the scenario.

  • Add loot goblin.

  • Improve AI and opponents(such as better ragdoll, combat system)

I was planning on releasing a patch note like this once every 1 or 2 months, but I just worked like crazy these past 15 days that the note would be too big if I waited another 15 days. So here we go!



Bug fixes and Optimization

Fixed opponents occasionally not detecting players.

Fixed opponents standing behind other opponents instead of side stepping to get into another angle.

Fixed weapons making woosh noises with every single movement.

Fixed Japanese translation, arigato トーチカ (TohChika)!

Medkit didn’t have the option to toggle grip or hold grip.

Fixed sometimes when server owner changed scenes, the other players would go to the login scene and the Host kept stuck in the loading scene.

Health Bar wasn’t syncing properly.

Fixed Asian Characters, the languages japanese, korean and chinese needs their own font to be read properly, otherwise it kinda looks like this “yѳur ҭєxҭ lѳѳκs κιnd ѳf lικє ҭЋιs”.

If player had an item on the backslot, and you tried to hover an item there, it would vibrate the controller a lot. Fixed that.

Fixed odyssey controller Menu Button not working

Fixed the black screen bug on the display monitor for Oculus users

Fixed weapons still doing the wind noise when equipped in a slot

Fixed weapons floating in the air when the player holding them suddenly disconnects.

Fixed Maze sometimes not having an Exit

Fixed player being able to get on top of opponent(at least it has never happened before after some changes)

Fixed when playing multiplayer, one player would hear the other player vocal grunt as it was coming from inside your head.

Didn’t have an option to disable Mic and Music from the Login scene, fixed that.

Fixed only server hosts being able to set opponents into attention mode from shooting them from afar, before if the non host would do that, the opponent would simply ignore the damage and not charge into the player. Haven’t been able to test this properly though.

Fixed bug of players changing levels while playing coop and one being stuck and the other going back to Login scene

Fixed some japanese texts being invisible.

Fixed reddot of the glock being stuck inside the pistol.

Fixed new players having issues of inheriting the cloud data from my gameplays from the Editor, some players started already with a character while some players started the game in another language

Improved network ragdoll. The drawback is that the opponent downed position is not gonna be the same for all the players, for one player the opponent might be laying on their back, while for another it may be laying on their stomach, however their general position will be the same, and also they will get up at the same time. The positive is that a opponent won’t be sending 1000 lines of information in less than 2 seconds to other players through the network.

Fixed shotgun pumping everytime a player would snap rotate.

Fixed slug having metal sound when dropped on the ground.

Fixed MRS Sight(the one with a plus sign with a dot in the middle), if you saw it through some angles, the red plus sign would partially disappear.
Made bullet wounds decal longer, because sometimes there would be no bullet wound if you shot opponents.

Fixed Spiked Shield not being able to be dropped with the left hand.

Fixed bayonet from WW2 rifle getting stuck in opponents(At least I believe I fixed)

Added a function for the opponent body parts to reset it’s position if it gets stuck on a wall per example for non hosts of the server.

Fixed sights not appearing for the host if the non host equipped the sight on a gun.

Removed the internal collisions while standing of all opponents(except the big fat orc with the shield, because his belly would pop out of the shield when he blocked), and made the internal collisions to only turn on while opponent is knocked down. That way the opponent weapons won't get stuck in their body parts anymore.

Made the valve rotate for other players when one player is rotating it
Fixed not being able to see the whole tower and big parts of the clouds from the Login Scene





Audio improvements

Added grunts noises for attacking, getting hurt and dying. This option can be disabled in the Login Scene through the Gameplay Settings.

Added idle sounds for opponents, such as creepy breathing.




Gameplay changes and improvements

Made it more difficult for opponents to trip and fall.

Made it easier to pump shotguns.

Decreased the running speed of opponents and removed when they sprint towards you and follow up with an attack. My idea was to force players into fighting opponents, without them cheesing and avoiding fights, however many players were finding the sprint a bit strange, so I removed it. In the future I will find a way for the player to not be able to avoid fights or motivate the player to take the fights.

Added a black box around player while loading, so players cannot see where the Exit Room is spawning.

Added a more smooth and better effect to show when the player is damaged


Made pistol reddot “window” much bigger, so it’s now way better to use.


Disabled player to player collision, because it was causing a lot of accidental bumps into pointy objects.

Added a better bullet impact against opponents, now player can see better the body parts of enemies jump around from the impact.


Did some changes to the ragdoll system, however I’m not happy with it, and will still do some changes.

Made opponents' attack speed slower. About 10% to 20%.

Easier to load mag into a few guns.





UI improvements

Added a globe icon next to the icon, in case the player is lost in another language, now they can see the globe icon. Also added the word “languages” that will stay in English.

Added a notification when a player completed Act 1. You will likely get that message if you played the game before, however only for the first time, then you can ignore it.
