Bug Fixes



  • Fixed issue with items in player's inventory during the day transition becoming stuck in their inventory the next day.
  • Pausing during cutscenes should no longer cause issues with cutscene timing.
  • The time of day should be properly cleared when creating a new save during the same game instance.
  • Fixed issue with vaccinations reducing adoptability by one star.
  • Fixed the Clock Out button disappearing if enabling the summary tab in the reports page (when it wasn't enabled by default)
  • Fixed issue with end game scene, making it impossible to get to credits if said "no" the first time to the mayor

  • Added scrolling behavior to traits that are too long in the dog folder.
  • Added icon to traits to show traits that generate stress.
  • Added new icon to dog thought bubbles to indicate when they are generating stress.

  • Added an event that can spawn between 3 and 5 dogs when the shelter is below 65% capacity.
  • Added an icon to mark a dog's Home Kennel when they are focused while on leash.

Hey everyone!


I want to thank all of you for your patience as we’ve worked on this patch. It has been a while, but I hope that our work shines through in the fixes and improvements we’ve been able to make and If you’re new to TTR I hope that you just get to focus on helping virtual (and real) pups. We have more work to do, but I hope you are still enjoying TTR and that it will be much easier to do so now!

I also want to reiterate that we aren’t stepping away from TTR anytime soon. We are committed to making sure that the game is everything it can be and we still have tons of content planned to further expand the game this year and beyond. Things like new shelter customizations, new dog and character designs, deeper interactions between the dogs, and much more!

We have the best audience and community out there and we can’t wait to share even more with you. Additionally, I want to shout out our incredible helpers and Discord mods who have been there to help you with issues while we work and provided invaluable feedback during testing.

  • Fixed helpers still being stuck after building break room door
  • Fixed dogs being unable to move near helper when on leash (should fix dogs and helpers getting stuck in some cases)

  • Grants no longer stop tracking further progress once the game is loaded
  • New dogs will now show up more often when you are low on dogs
  • Increased the cost of helpers
  • Player no longer walks into and gets stuck in kennels when entering conversations
  • Dog thought bubble symbols now reference the specific disease they have when sick
  • Added a failsafe to return dogs to their playspace if they escape
  • Greatly reduced save file size
  • Greatly improved file write times. Issues with lost frames while saving should be reduced
  • Fixed issue causing the talkable adopters to not ever appear in the final cutscene

Before we go through all the fixes/changes, we just want to highlight one of biggest requests we've added in this patch which is a Story Mode Tutorial toggle to the new game panel. Toggling this off will skip the introduction of the story and progress straight to the Mayor's tour of the new shelter

Major Bug Fixes/Changes



  • Fixed issue with game not saving the first time a scene is loaded.
  • Dogs should no longer spawn with the same names as dogs needed to progress tutorial in Sunny Paws (again: we're looking at you Peanut and Ringo)
  • Made it no longer possible for dogs to run away where you can't get them in Sunny Paws
  • Made dogs that spawn in Sunny Paws have much higher needs at the start to make it hopefully a bit less hectic or stressful
  • Fixed the visual issue in the character selection screen that occurs after having unlocked the secret character
  • Added Story Tutorial toggle to the new game panel. Toggling this off will skip the introduction of the story and progress straight to the Mayor's tour of the new shelter
  • Fixed an issue that would occasionally lock the save slots preventing a new game from being started
  • Adjusted font settings to address the issue with dissapearing text on Mac
  • Added a failsafe to check skill availability so they shouldn't become incorrectly locked
  • Loose dogs now return to the player if they get too far away. They also now generally prefer to stay inside
  • Limited the maximum rate of disease spread to make outbreaks more manageble.
  • Balance changes for adoption and new dog event biases: should reduce the number of times one will happen without the other
  • When the foster network is unlocked, it is now very likely that the first foster will appear on the next day.
  • Fix for bug that allows unlimited liking of a social media post with the Floofscrolling sklil.

  • Added a catch to remove dogs from the list of current dogs that shouldn't and dont spawn into the scene
  • Fixed issue causing superdog traits and other recently added traits to appear as mirrors of other traits or garbage data
  • Fixed issue with superdogs not knowing what shelter stage they belonged in and haunting the player for all eternity
  • Fix for the issue with the Backer Plaque being interactable from outside the lobby. It should no longer override interactions with nearby kennels.
  • Fixed an issue for dogs recieving duplicate traits.
  • Fixed animation issues with several visitor and player designs
  • Fixed helpers removing dogs from show kennels to bathe them in certain circumstances
  • When the foster network is unlocked, it is now very likely that the first foster will appear on the next day.

Bug Fixes



  • Implemented a fix for stress gain happening before stage 3 leading to injuries that can't be treated yet.
  • Implemented a fix for events not happening on the first day of the game.
  • Dogs should no longer spawn with the same names as dogs needed to progress tutorial in Sunny Paws
  • The puppy events were getting a bit out of hand, so we reduced the frequency of puppy events
  • Added a catch for a issue in cutscenes that potentialy broke cutscenes and led to potential hard blocks.
  • Reduced the slowest speed from 1 tick every 2.5 seconds to 1 tick every 3 seconds.
  • Fixed common issue with saves that was caused by specific dog traits.
  • Fixed an issue with being unable to close construction during mayor cutscene. The mayor should no longer impede your constructions.
  • Added a call to refresh setting values when loading to the menu.
  • Companions no longer have a radioactive looking outline animation.
  • Fixed an issue with kennel upgrades retaining default text.
  • Simple Bathing minigame mode will no longer be extremely, so hopefully you'll be able to have more simple baths.
