Below, you will find the patch notes for Title Update 4, which will be available on May 17 at approximately 9AM UTC for PC, and May 18 at approximately 9AM UTC for consoles. Similar to previous updates, TU4 will include a brief maintenance period to update servers for the new version. The patch will be up to 7.2 GB PC depending on your client, and up to 9.0 GB on consoles, depending on your installed version; again, an in-game notification will alert players to the availability of the update. A game reboot will be required to apply the patch, and players will need to have the same version of the game in order to play co-op.
Title Update 4 draws much of its focus from player feedback, including several quality of life changes for co-op and solo play and a suite of new HUD and UI options. Co-op players will be able to alert their squad mates when dying, and tagged resource crates will be granted to every teammate in the collecting player’s zone. Downed players will redeploy at the mission starting point, rather than at a random location in the world, and there is now a brief window of time to take down an alerted enemy before a stealth mission is failed.
Title Update 4 will also usher in season two of the Live Season Challenges, with a new focus, new challenges, and new rewards! Additionally, Challenges will now include some additional gameplay parameters such as difficulty or HUD settings. You can follow along with the new episodes at the Ghost Recon Network.
A new round of improvements and bug-fixes will be implemented with this patch. For example, the introductory Kingslayer video no longer triggers upon launch, and full magazines are no longer consumed when a suppressor is applied to a weapon in the gunsmith menu.
Finally, Title Update 4 paves the way for the upcoming Fallen Ghosts DLC, first announced here. Stay on the lookout for more intel about Fallen Ghosts, coming soon.
Improvements to the HUD include splitting several broad HUD options into a wider variety of more granular options. Please note that some of these were already implemented on the TU 3.5 update for PC, but are now fully and officially implemented across all platforms:

LIVE SEASON CHALLENGES
Hello Ghosts,
A few weeks ago, we told you about our ambitions for the post-launch content of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Wildlands. Title Update 3 is already available on console, and will be made available for PC on Friday; this is the first step in a long list of improvements that we are working on for the game. Today, we would like to go into detail about the Live Season Challenges, which will be available starting April 18th.
Live Season Challenges Overview
With the Live Season Challenges, the development team wanted to give all players new objectives to achieve on a regular basis. Challenges will be available through multiple seasons with each of them lasting six weeks and featuring a specific theme with dedicated rewards.
Through a new in-game menu section, you’ll be able to find the current challenges and follow your progression.
You will have to follow specific instructions in order to find new assignments that are set in different regions of the map. Please note that you need to be online to activate the challenges and update your statistics, but the missions can be completed offline during the same game session.
There will be a total of five new missions per week that will gradually allow you to discover new pieces of Operation Kingslayer. These will be divided between:
- Three challenges playable in solo (co-op is available, but please note that your stats are counted individually).
- One challenge dedicated to Task Force members (Task Force can be created or joined on the Ghost Recon Network)
- One community challenge that will require the contribution of all players to reach a common objective.
Players will receive a reward after completing each challenge totaling three rewards per season. During a season, each challenge will be available for one week and updated every Wednesday at 9 am UTC. So don’t forget to complete them before then to get your reward!
1. Season One: The Rise and Fall of Unidad
Ghosts, here is your mission briefing regarding Season One of the Live Season Challenges:
We are looking forward to seeing you in the challenges of the week, Ghosts!
TITLE UPDATE 3: PATCH NOTES
Hello Ghosts,
Here are the patch notes for Title Update 3, available on April 12th around 8am UTC for consoles and on Friday morning for PC. As with the previous patch, we will have a small maintenance in order to update our servers to this new version. The patch size will be up to 8.4 GB on consoles and up to 6.5 GB on PC, depending on your client and installed version; an in-game notification will let you know when it’s available. Players in game will need to reboot the game to apply the patch. Please remember that in order to play co-op, all players will need to have the same version of the game.
This latest update focuses on improvements on game stability and bug fixing but we’ve also been gathering player feedback about certain issues and implemented changes in order to improve the user experience. For example, we fixed the Kingslayer files counter on the tacmap for the Media Luna and Inca Camina regions for those who are collecting every piece of intel around the map. We fixed a rare issue that left some players with their XP bars stuck at a certain level. XP boosters will now display the number of hours they last, and players who reported problems unlocking intel and missions while playing in co-op should have a smoother experience now. Additionally, we also addressed the reports of players stating the ADV suppressor ability wasn’t working properly for them.
Title Update 3 also marks the beginning of a much requested community feature: we are glad to introduce the first Live Season Challenges for Ghost Recon Wildlands! As we mentioned in our post-launch article, this feature will add new content for those of you who are eager to return to Bolivia to keep your Ghosts and Task Forces active. You will receive weekly orders to complete different objectives, some which can be completed playing solo and some which will require the help of the members of your Task Force or even the collaboration of the whole Ghost Recon community. If you meet the requirements to complete each challenge, you will be able to unlock various seasonal rewards, so don’t miss out!
If you want to know more about the Live Season Challenges, you can find them in the game menu once the patch is downloaded and you are deployed in-game. Please remember you need to be online to progress through the Live Season Challenges and get the rewards. The first 6 weeks are related to Unidad forces, but that’s all the intel we can give you for now. If you want more info, you can check our article on Live Season Challenges following this link. Good hunting, Ghosts!
Aside from these changes, we have also heard your feedback regarding the radio and dialogue between the Ghosts, so we made some changes to improve the narrative content delivery for players. The radio content randomization has been optimized, so now you should be able to listen to a variety of dialogues and songs every time you enter a car or are near a radio. On top of that, we made adjustments regarding the dialogues between AI teammates and the conversations related to missions so that they don’t repeat unnecessarily after they have been played.
For more information, here is the detailed list of fixes and improvements, with the PC specific ones at the end:

The Santa Blanca cartel is a well-oiled machine. It takes several parts moving together in harmony to maintain the power it holds over Bolivia. Our narrative team has done an amazing job giving personality to the people behind these moving parts. Sam Strachman, our Narrative Director, had this to say about the process:
“We looked at the hierarchy of the cartel, all the roles that needed to be filled, all the jobs, and we created personalities around each of these jobs. “
Learn more about the Santa Blanca cartel, and the process behind bringing it to life in the video below.

Meet Don Winslow, main author of the cartel-themed narrative for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands
We are thrilled to announce that the writing duo of New York Times bestselling authors Don Winslow and Shane Salerno have teamed up with us to create the cartel-themed novel for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. Winslow is the award-winning and #1 internationally bestselling author of The Cartel, The Power of the Dog and Savages. Salerno is one of the most sought-after writers in the film industry. He is currently working with Oscar-winning filmmaker James Cameron on four separate sequels to Avatar, the highest grossing film of all time, and writing and producing The Cartel (an adaptation of Don Winslow’s novel) for master filmmaker Ridley Scott. He also co-wrote the film Savages with Don Winslow and the three-time Oscar-winner Oliver Stone, as well as the film Armageddon for director Michael Bay.
“I’ve written about drug cartels for more than twenty years and together with my writing partner Shane Salerno have brought that knowledge to the story, scenes, characters and dialogue found in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands,” Winslow said.
“I’ve been a Tom Clancy fan ever since I first read The Hunt For Red October.” Salerno declared. "It was a real thrill to work on this game with the team at Ubisoft, who are incredibly passionate and committed to delivering the best gaming experience possible for fans.” Salerno said.
Winslow and Salerno offered their knowledge of the international drug trade and their skills in storytelling to create an authentic drug-cartel narrative that will unfold for players when Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands launches on March 7, 2017.
“Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands presents a first for the series with our massive open world that can be explored freely. With this amount of freedom, we wanted to bring in top talent to create a believable cartel organization and story. As fans of their work, we knew that Don Winslow and Shane Salerno would be the perfect team to help us keep the game rooted in reality while keeping the game’s core entertainment experience,” said Nouredine Abboud, Senior Producer of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands.
We were able to catch up with Don and learn about his experience with cartels, as well as his first experience writing for a video game. You can see the video of that interview below.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands will be available on March 7, 2017, for PlayStation®4 system, Xbox One, and PC.

Title Update 2: Patch Notes
Hello Ghosts,
We would like to announce the patch notes for our Title Update 2, available on PC on March 22nd and PS4 and Xbox One on March 23rd during morning UTC. We will have a small maintenance in order to update our servers.
The development team focused on improving all areas of the game, from gameplay content to connectivity and stability tweaks. The patch size will be around 3 GB on consoles and up to 5 GB on PC, depending on your client, and an in-game notification will let you know when it’s available. Players in game will need to reboot the game to apply the patch. Please remember that in order to play co-op, all the players will need to have the same version of the game.
In addition to that, following the community feedback we received, we have implemented the option to turn off the radios in the game by default, as well as the option to choose the type of vehicle you want to spawn when using the “Drop Vehicle” rebel skill. Now you should have even more tactical options to plan and execute your missions.
Also, for those of you who love playing with the most hardcore settings and all your HUD elements turned off, we have implemented the option to choose which type intel you want to collect when interacting with files or NPCs. This way the gameplay flow won’t be interrupted and you will be able to discover new missions, skills, and weapons seamlessly, even with all the visual tips turned off.
You can find some PC specific fixes and improvements at the end of the notes. On top of other fixes, the Home, End, Insert, Delete, Page Up, and Page Down keys can now be remapped--making life easier for some players, especially the left-handed ones.
Thanks for your suggestions, Ghosts!

Cartel Operations: The Santa Blanca Cartel’s Four Pillars
In order to maximize their efficiency and maintain tight control over the people working for them, the Santa Blanca Cartel is organized into four distinct operations: production, trafficking, influence, and security. Each operation is based in different territories and is led by a head of the operation who reports directly to El Sueño. Below their rank, the Buchones (the Bosses) facilitate the cartel’s day to day operational activities across the game’s 21 provinces.
This firm hierarchy is one of Santa Blanca’s greatest assets, but even the strongest walls have cracks. You will have complete freedom to pick which enemy you want to face first, but choose wisely. Every operation is different from the other driven by unique characters and motivations.
As a Ghost, your mission is to destabilize each of the cartel’s branches until the heads of operations have no other choice but to show themselves. Successfully tackle your missions and maybe even El Sueño himself could be within your reach. But first, you’ll need to get briefed on each operation and know their ins and outs before you can end the Santa Blanca Cartel’s business once and for all.
PRODUCTION
The foundation of the Santa Blanca Cartel is production, the branch that deals with the raw materials used to build the cartel’s empire. This operation performs every step of transforming a coca leaf into its white powdery counterpart. To achieve this magic, production uses a large network of coca fields, laboratories, and hideouts, and Santa Blanca’s henchmen supervise the work of the cocaleros, or farmers, to ensure they meet the production demands by way of threats and extortion.
Production is headed by El Yayo (the Grandfather), an ex-cocalero who became a cocaine producer. Formerly a coca union leader, El Yayo is the highest-ranking Bolivian inside Santa Blanca and he works closely with La Gringa, a disgraced American chemist. Learn more about El Yayo here.

The influence branch manages the cartel’s recruitment and public image through manipulating religion, corrupting education, controlling the elite, and even operating a humanitarian non-governmental organization (NGO). Influence leaders are often found in churches, monasteries, sanctuaries, and NGO camps, preaching El Sueño’s words and trying to convert people to the Santa Muerte cult. Their mission is subtle but clear: they propagate all Santa Blanca’s dreadful actions as divine acts, making people believe El Sueño is a saint who really cares about their well-being. Despite their sweet lies, some of the cartel’s doings are too much for the people to digest.
El Cardenal is in charge of influence branch, and is the direct spiritual advisor to El Sueño. Excommunicated by the Catholic Church for preaching Santa Muerte doctrine, his religious background makes him perfect for winning the hearts and minds of the people. Despite his traditional appearance, El Cardenal is also very aware of the crucial role of mass communications for disseminating the cartel’s propaganda. That is why he relies on the smooth talking , DJ Perico, the official DJ of the Santa Blanca radio and his henchman, to communicate his teachings. Similarly, El Chido, a Narco-Corrido singer, adds the music to a finely tuned propaganda machine, playing epic songs about El Sueño and his alleged exploits. You can learn more about El Cardenal here.
TRAFFICKING
Trafficking deals with money laundering, packaging and the transporting of final products both within the country and internationally. They own processing plants, shipping stations, railways, and airports. Trafficking makes sure the product always flows to where the demand is, and they use the most dubious and creative ways to ship drugs to satisfy that demand. Air, land, sea – and even under sea – nothing can stop them.
Nidia Flores, the fearless Beauty Queen, is the head of trafficking. Smart and manipulative, Nidia rules the drug transportation business with efficiency along with her right hand, El Boquita. Learn more about Nidia here.
SECURITY
Security makes sure that every division of the Santa Blanca Cartel can operate in safety by taking care of issues rising with the Kataris 26 rebels and the government’s Unidad forces. Their duties also include protecting both departing drug shipments and incoming money to keep Santa Blanca’s business flowing. This branch is heavily armed and often operates in outposts, sicario’s houses, prisons, camps, and road checkpoints. If you become a problem for the cartel, you will receive a visit from security and it won’t be pleasant, that’s for sure. Just pray that you end up dead instead of being tortured in one of their prisons.
El Muro (the Wall) is the head of security. Personal bodyguard and childhood friend of El Sueño, he’s cold and professional, and is the cartel equivalent of a Ghost. His little brother, La Plaga, works closely with him. Learn more about El Muro here.
--
Now that you have learned more about the different cartel operations, it’s time to take them down. Remember that you will have complete freedom to choose your path, so it’s up to you to choose which branch of the Santa Blanca tree you want to prune first. Make it count, Ghost.
