New Track: "Jarabe Tapatio," The Mexican Hat Dance!
We just pushed an update which brings the game to v1.05! It adjusts a few very tiny things, but mostly adds a new track: "Jarabe Tapatio," known in English as The Mexican Hat Dance!
This is a fiendishly difficult track, and should really test the skills of the ultra-hardcore rhythm gamers out there.
We hope you enjoy it! Many many more updates to come!

v1.04 is live!
v1.04 is live and we have some cool changes and updates!
IMPROVEMENTS
Rewrote keyboard input, should be MUCH easier to play using multiple keys (e.g., alternating between Z and X).
Added duration and tempo to the track select screen.
Added ability to sort the tracks in the track select screen.
There are now separate x64 and x86 builds, which should help modders for some reason.
Made scoring for short doots even more forgiving.
When buying sacks, you can just click the left arrow to max out your sacks.
Some events in card scene changed from "mouse up" to "mouse down."
Leaving the bass tootvessel scene now brings you to the card scene rather than home.
More stuff under the hood.
BUGS
Attempted to fix the "black screen bug" some users encounter when they first launch the game. It should really be fixed this time!!!
v1.035 is live!
v1.035 is live, which mainly brings three bugfixes:
Black screen bug: some users with ultrawide or otherwise weird monitors see a black screen when they launch the game. This MAY fix that, but not 100% sure.
Fixed an issue where some users experience jittery vertical mouse movement at times.
Fixed a bug where users see a black screen on the gameplay screen if they mash the mouse wheel or arrow keys after clicking Play.
We have a lot more in store! We've been getting some great feedback and have a handful of key fixed queued up. Thank you for your continued patience!
v1.03 is live!
We pushed an update which BEGINS to address some issues (we plan to keep working on these) and adds a new song!
Added a new song! "Rosamunde," a legendary polka! Enjoy!
Attemped to reduce "popping" sounds during gameplay. It should be slightly better but is not totally fixed.
Added some custom code to make the scoring for very short notes more forgiving. This is still a work in progress, and we plan to tweak this further, but it should be an improvement.
Began adjusting some elements in the Track Select screen in preparation for a minor redesign with more data + sortability.
Added ability to click the version number on the title screen to see the most important patch notes.
Lots of other tweaks "under the hood" to prepare the game for future updates.
"Never Liked The Guy" Achievement Fixed
A few people noticed that this achievement was broken. It should now be fixed! Look for a very, very small update (<1mb), which should bring your version up to 1.021.
Thank you for your continued patience!
Volume settings bug fixed in 1.02!
We just pushed v1.02, which should fix what was (hopefully) the most visible and annoying bug. Previously, if you adjusted the volume in the Settings screen, your setting would be ignored as soon as the gameplay scene began. That should no longer happen!
Apologies for this one! We should have caught this in testing. This is a weird issue that only appears in builds, not in the editor. We tested the master volume setting, but apparently not in an actual build.
1.01 Released!
Hello! We just pushed 1.01, a very small update which addresses two annoying bugs:
A handful of sound effects ignored the "Master Volume" setting in the Settings screens. If you turned the global volume down, airhorn sound effects would continue to blast at full volume (admittedly, this is pretty funny), and some sound effects in the Score screen would also play at full volume. These should now be fixed!
Attempted to address a very rare bug that caused some users to see a blank screen when they launch the game. This should be fixed now, but we're not 100% sure.
More to come soon!
Steam Cloud Saves have been enabled!
Steam Cloud Saves have been enabled for Trombone Champ! We should have done this before launch, apologies!
In particular, this should help Steam Deck users. Save files from your Steam Deck should transfer to your PC, and vice versa.
We don't have a Steam Deck at the moment, so we're unable to test this, so if you discover any weird hiccups there, please let us know!
Thank you for your patience!

The Trombone Champ Update Roadmap: Phase 1
Hello friends! We thought we'd share our roadmap for immediate priorities:
Track select screen improvements: Adding metadata such as tempo + song length, plus the ability to sort tracks by difficulty, name, etc.
Accessibility: Adding the ability to reduce flashing, colors, background motion, etc. Also, beginning to add controller support + alternate control methods.
More songs:Free batches of new songs, most likely released in groups of three. Each batch will contain one “easy” song, to ease the new player experience.
Score Graph: Optional “pop-up” graph on the score screen that shows how you performed throughout the track.
Better widescreen support: Making the game experience better with ultra-widescreen monitors.
Prepping for localization: Updating the codebase so additional language support can be added.
Mac & Steam Deck: Researching the viability of a Mac release & possibly improving the SteamDeck experience.
The above list is roughly in priority order, although we will likely work on many of these things simultaneously, and they may not be released in the order displayed above. Overall, we'd like to have everything above finished this year! Some of these things may be very quick (such as the ability to sort tracks in the Track Select screen), while others will be more gradual (such as prepping the various screens for multi-language support).
Also note that small things — such as continued bugfixes, small tweaks, small song adjustments, etc — are not listed above. This is just the big stuff!
We also have plans for more updates beyond what is listed above. Our current plan is for our "major updates" to culminate in a level editor and more storyline content. However, the stuff above is our top priority for the moment!
We look forward to having you on our side as we continue to smooth out Trombone Champ!
Thank you! -Holy Wow
Trombone Champ is Released!
Hello friends - Trombone Champ v1.00 is now available for purchase!
If you played the playtest, you might know approximately what to expect - a bigger, more polished Trombone Champ, with a lot more songs and a ton of little quality-of-life improvements. We're really happy with how version 1.00 turned out, and we owe it largely to our playtesters! Thank you all!
Of course, we're not going to stop with version 1.00. In the coming months, we plan to launch a series of updates, which we will detail soon. We'll post updates here and on our social media accounts - primarily our twitter account, @holywowstudios.
We hope you enjoy tooting as much as we enjoyed making the toots, and we look forward to seeing what our fans do with this weird little game.
