Director’s Letter Vol. 3
Hello, I’m Ryu Myung-Sang, UNDECEMBER’s director.
First, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Rune Hunters for showing continued interest in the game and for watching over the changes that are coming to UNDECEMBER.
After the pre-registration page and the Director’s Commentary about the new Season Mode was released, we found a trend where many Rune Hunters expressed curiosity about the new changes. To help users easily see the answers for some frequently asked questions, we have structured this letter in a Q&A format.
1. What is the difference between Standard Mode and Season Mode? Standard Mode and Season Mode have the same growth speed, item drop rate, and game content. However, there are some Beauty products and Titles that can be obtained in Season Mode through missions, Ranking Rewards, and other content that are exclusive to Season Mode.
2. Can I use the Currency I own equally in both Modes? Diamonds and Rubies will remain as ‘shared-within-account’ Currency, meaning that they can be used equally in both Standard Mode and Season Mode. Excluding these, Currency obtained within the game, such as Gold, Gemstones, and Coins, will be ‘shared-within-mode’ Currency, meaning that they can only be used in the Mode in which they were obtained.
3. Do I need to repurchase Convenience and Beauty Products that I have already bought? Content that is categorized as Convenience and Beauty, such as various types of Storage, Storage Expansion, Pets, Zodiac Walker, and Costumes, are ‘shared-within-account’ content, and can be used equally regardless of mode. Therefore, users will be able to use all previously purchased Storage, Pets etc., both in Standard and Season Mode.
4. How is each game content classified according to modes? Alchemy, the Black Market, Titles, Achievements, and Mastery will be changed so that they are no longer separate for each character, but ‘shared within characters of each mode’. Once Season Mode ends, this content will be integrated into Standard Mode based on the mode with the higher values. Chaos Statue Levels, the Chaos Compendium, Item Compendium, and Relics are all ‘shared-within-mode’ content, and growth values will be shared within each mode.
5. Are there any differences between the Auction House in Standard Mode and Season Mode? What is the Combined Auction House? The Auction House for Standard Mode and Season Mode will be operated separately. The current Auction House, where you can have Buyouts and Bidding, will be operated in the same way as the Server Auction House, whilst a new Combined Auction House, where Bidding is not possible but Buyouts with global users from all around the world are, will be added.
6. Will there be changes to the products sold at the Shop? As the game’s direction changes along with the addition of Season Mode, the business model of the game will also change. There will be more focus on the accessibility of the game, Passes, and Beauty Products, and many items that were previously not available to trade between users will become available to trade.
7. How will content with Mileage, such as Rune Birth and Rune Synthesis, change? Content that currently has Mileage and Mileage Counts will be ‘shared-within-mode’ content, and when this content is integrated into Standard Mode after the Season ends, it will be integrated based on the Mode with the higher values. (e.g. If a user has 6 Mileage in Season Mode, and 3 Mileage in Standard Mode, 6 Mileage will be applied when the modes are integrated.)
8. Other - How will Rankings work? : Rankings will be managed separately for each mode, and the Rankings that are applied and the rewards that are given will be separate for each mode. - How will Slot Expansion work? : The expansion of Rune Slots and Trigger Slots will be applied per character as before. - What will happen to Season Mode characters once Season Mode ends? : Once a Season ends, characters used in Season Mode will be automatically moved and integrated into Standard Mode when the next Season starts.

◈ UNDECEMBER Key Update ※ The following information is related to the new content that will be added through the update.
◆ Descent Raid - Season 7 - A new season of Descent Raids is coming! ✔ You can enter the new raid through the Recruitment Board in each Act Town or in Saluto.
■ Descent Raid Details - A new season of Descent Raids, Trischema and Ochogneel, is coming! Trischema will start on Mar. 29 (Wed) and last 2 weeks, whilst Ochogneel will start on Apr. 5 (Wed) and last 2 weeks. When the raids open, select the boss for the raid before matching and entering. The raids’ opening times will be the same as previous raids. - The required level for entering the Trischema and Ochogneel Descent Raids is Lv.80, and the party size is 8 players. - Descent Raids are special raids that you can only enter at certain times during the day. - Once the raid is available, you can challenge the boss by either creating a raid party or matching. - You can obtain a Unique Runestone once you defeat the Descent Raid boss. - The Runestone you can obtain from the Descent Raid is Lv.100.
■ Shadow Mirror - Collect Shadow Mirror Shards to complete the Shadow Mirror and receive rewards upon clearing the Descent Raid. - You can still defeat the boss without completing the Shadow Mirror, but you will not be able to receive Clear Rewards. * Shadow Mirror Shards can be obtained from the field or through Chaos Dungeon drops. * You cannot obtain any more Shadow Mirror Shards once the Shadow Mirror is fully completed.
■ Additional Rewards - Defeating the Descent Raid Boss can lead to additional rewards such as DMG Rewards and Clear Rewards. ㄴDMG Rewards – Can be obtained depending on your highest Total DMG score from your encounters. ㄴClear Rewards – Can be obtained by repeatedly defeating the Descent Raid boss after completing the Shadow Mirror.
■ To Note ※ Details and rewards may be subject to change. ※ Descent Raids take place through seasons (2 weeks per season, 1 week break).
◆ 2023 Spring Greeting Celebration Event - A new event, ‘Spring Greeting Celebration Event’, will begin! - To celebrate the coming of Spring, a drop event and attendance reward event will be taking place. ① During the event period, you can obtain ‘Spring Greeting Chests’ when you defeat monsters in Episodes or in Chaos Dungeons. You can get the chance to obtain special items, such as Traum’s Crystal, when using Spring Greeting Chests. ② During the event period, you can obtain rewards through attendance for a total of 7 days. * For more details, please refer to the event notice that will be going up on Mar. 29 (Wed). ◈ Improvement and Other Changes ※ These are the improvements and changes that will come into place along with the update.
◆ Improvements ✔ UI - The Promote Party message will be improved so that it does not go beyond the Chat screen area.
✔ Skills - Among the skills used by the Mad Shaman Mill boss monster, the hit detection of certain skills where Projectiles are emitted will be improved.
✔ Recruit Party - ‘Descent Raid – Trischema’ will be added to the Recruit Party Objectives.
✔ Descent Raid - Improvements will be made so that the character moves to the center when the Descent Raid Carovan uses certain skills.
✔ Monster - The name of a normal monster that has the same name as the boss monster, ‘Legion of Evil Priest’, will be changed. : Normal monster: ‘Legion of Evil Priest’ → 'Legion of Evil Shaman'
✔ Item - Changes will be made so that the following 3 items can be registered at the Auction House. * High Traces of Creation (Weapon) * High Traces of Creation (Armor) * High Traces of Creation (Accessory)
◆ Other Changes ✔ Void Rift - Season 9 - The previous season of Void Rift will end, and a new season will begin! - Your Void Rift progress, Rank Points, and reward history will reset every season. - The boss monsters and levels of each area will also change once the Void Rift is reset. - You will not be able to receive the previous season’s rewards once the season ends, so please be sure to collect all rewards before maintenance takes place. - The Void Rift season will take place for 3 weeks.
✔ Rune Hunter Pass – Season 8 - Rune Hunter Pass Season 8 will end after Mar. 29 (Wed) 09:00 (UTC+9).
✔ Brown’s Lucky Dice Event - Brown’s Lucky Dice Event will also be coming to an end. ※ Please note that once you log in to the game after the Mar. 29 (Wed) maintenance, the Golden Dice in your bag will disappear and therefore cannot be used or sold. ※ The event will end after the Mar. 29 (Wed) maintenance, so please make sure you use your Lucky Dice and Golden Dice within the event period. Unused Dice will disappear.
◈ Game Balance Changes ✔ Content - Descent Raid monster levels will be adjusted from Lv.112 to Lv.116.
◈ Bug Fixes ✔ Skills - The issue where the second strike is sometimes not applied when using a Combo Skill after equipping a 2-handed weapon will be fixed.
✔ Stats - The issue where Stats decrease when equipping and removing items with certain options will be fixed.
✔ Items - The issue where Immune to Freeze does not work properly when Strength and Dexterity is 300 or higher among the options of the Unique Item, 'Frost Moss Chest', will be fixed. - The issue where some Unique Items incorrectly deal additional DMG will be fixed. ※ Affected Items: Blazing Orbit, Azure Providence, Lightning Nail

Ganida Update and Global Service Integration Key Changes
Greetings, Rune Hunters.
The Ganida update will take place through the Apr. 27 (Thu) maintenance, and the Korean server will be added to the game’s list of servers as it is integrated with our Global service.
This notice explains in advance the major changes that will be coming after the Global service integration, so please see the information below to avoid any inconvenience whilst playing the game.
1. Season Mode As explained in the Director’s Commentary video, in order to provide more variety and fun in the game, future updates will introduce a Season Mode that will run at regular intervals.
The introduction of this Season Mode will mean that the game will be provided with a new balance every season. During the Season Mode period, you can choose and play the Season Mode once you create a character.
The first Season after the Global service integration will begin with the scheduled maintenance on Apr. 27 (Thu).
Although there may be some differences in the rewards you obtain in the game if you play in Season Mode, the game content and growth speed of characters will be the same for both Standard Mode and Season Mode.
2. Information on Characters Once the first Season begins after the Global service integration on Apr. 27 (Thu), all characters that were previously created and played with will be set as Standard Mode characters, meaning that you will need to create new characters in order to enjoy Season Mode.
Currently, the maximum number of characters that can be created is 8, and this will not change even with the Global service integration.
Character slots will, however, be changed so that all 8 slots can be used without purchase. Users who have previously expanded their Character slots will be refunded with Currency according to the number of slots they have expanded.
There may be some cases where some Rune Hunters may have difficulties when creating Season characters, so we will be adjusting the waiting time for character deletion from the standard 3 days (72 hours) to 3 hours. We are also planning on adding a feature for converting Standard Mode characters to Season Mode characters. When changing a character’s mode, all information about the character, apart from their name and appearance, will be reset.
However, please note that we will not be able to provide you with separate assistance, such as restoring characters, if you accidentally delete a character or change its mode. So please make sure you consider your decision carefully when deleting a character or changing modes.
Season characters that are created to be used for Season Mode will be changed to ‘Normal Mode’ characters, or in other words, Standard Mode characters, at the end of the Season.
More detailed information related to this will be released with the update on Apr. 27 (Thu).
3. Introduction of Combined Auction House After the Global service integration, a Combined Auction House, where items from all servers can be traded, will be added to the game.
With the Combined Auction House, you will be able to trade the various items that are registered on the Asia/America/Europe/Korea servers, regardless of the server.
However, in the Combined Auction House, trade will only be available in the form of Buyouts. The Bidding system will only be available in the current Auction House.
For example, if you register an item for sale in the Combined Auction House on the Asia server, Bidding will not be possible and the item can only be purchased through Buyout.
On the other hand, if you register an item for Bidding on the Europe server, you will not be able to use the Combined Auction House and only trade the item within the Europe server.
4. Item Balance Changes and Increase in Tradable Items With the update on Apr. 27 (Thu), the overall balance of items will be adjusted. Along with balance adjustments, the types of tradable items will also be increased. You can find details on the types of tradable items by checking in-game item details after the update.
5. Changes to Rune Balance and Engraving Methods With the update on Apr. 27 (Thu), the overall balance of Skill and Link Runes will be adjusted. As some of the content in the current Korean service and Global service are different, some content may change according to game balance adjustments as the services are integrated.
In addition, as users expressed disappointment about the way in which random results are currently obtained when Engraving in the game, we are considering improving the system so that you can designate and imbue the Awakening Effects you want. We will work hard to enhance your positive experience of the game by improving the system so that you can obtain results that you choose, rather than results that are randomly obtained.
If the Engraving system is improved, current items related to Engraving and Awakening will be deleted, and so that they can be used within the improved system, Seal of Engraving will be given as Engraving Stone Selections Chests, whilst Awakening Stones will be given as Engraving Stones according to each type of Skill/Link Rune.
6. Changes to Ortemis Growth Support Chest Event Period Although the ‘Ortemis Growth Support Chest Event’ was scheduled to last until May. 31 (Wed) after the Ortemis update, the event will now end earlier due to the Global service integration.
The event will now last until before the scheduled maintenance on Apr. 27 (Thu), so please be aware of this and ensure that you finish the event before it ends.
7. Changes to the Guild System There will also be some changes made to the Guild system with this upcoming update.
The Guild Level and users’ personal ranking level within the Guild will be deleted. As before, Guild Masters can level up Guild Buffs, but in relation to activating Buffs (using them), we are considering improving the system so that each individual Guild Member can use the Buffs.
8. Zodiac Improvements With the balance adjustments made to items and Runes, some Zodiac content may also change. Moreover, we are looking into new features, such as features for bringing and applying another user’s Zodiac information, and for resetting only some Zodiac Points that have already been imbued in the Zodiac menu. If these improvements end up being applied to the game, users will be able to set and apply Zodiacs more easily.
9. Changes to Alchemy & Crafting The Alchemy system will be changed to ‘account-shared’ content, meaning that all slots will become available to all characters on the account. Changes will be made to Alchemy Slots so that instead of slots being expanded through the use of existing Currency, they will be unlocked through various content, such as Achievement Rewards. With this change in the slot expansion method, we are planning on refunding Currency that has been used to already unlock slots.
Orb Combining and Formula Page lists will be changed from being according to each character, to being shared within the account, and current Orb Recipes will be maintained. However, with these lists being integrated into account-shared lists, we are looking into giving separate rewards for cases where the Orb Recipe used for each character is duplicated.
In addition, items that are being crafted whilst Global service integration is taking place will be deleted, so please ensure that you finish crafting before the server maintenance for service integration.
Moreover, as Crafting Levels will also be deleted, we will be refunding any Currency (Star Memory, Gold) that have been used for your current Level Up to the relevant character that used it.
10. Chaos Compendium System Renewal As the current system where Compendium Growth is done through Star Crystals will be changed, users will no longer be able to obtain Star Crystals after the integration of our services.
Star Crystals that are unused before service integration will be converted into Darkness Energy, and Gold used for your current Chaos Compendium Growth will be refunded.
11. Adjustments to Required EXP for Growth Content For most of the content that requires users to obtain EXP in order to grow, such as Rune Growth, Characters, Relics, and Mastery, the amount of EXP required for each level will be adjusted.
We hope that through these adjustments, users will be able to experience faster growth.
12. Expansion of Default Inventory Slots Once service integration is complete, the default number of Inventory slots will be expanded to 300. Through this, we hope to ease any frustrating experiences that come from obtaining a large number of items during your journey, and hope to make your adventures more convenient. Users who have already expanded their slots will be refunded with Currency according to the number of slots they have expanded.
13. Attendance Book Simplification The Attendance Book system will be simplified, and the current Monthly and New/Returning User Attendance Books will be deleted. With this simplification, we hope to increase focus on attendance events.
Please ensure that you check and receive unclaimed rewards before service integration.
14. End to Sale of Ruby Products As part of our preparations for service integration, the selling of some Ruby Products at the Paid Shop will be discontinued. We will inform you of the details regarding the products that will be discontinued through the Apr. 12 (Wed) scheduled maintenance and update notices.
15. Season Mode Zodiac Simulator To help users experience the Zodiac changes that will be taking place with the Apr. 27 (Thu) ACT 12 ‘Ganida’ update in advance, a preview of the Zodiac updates will be released on the Zodiac Simulator on Apr. 20 (Thu).
In addition, the following improvements and updates will also be made.
- Improvements to Rune Growth system and simplification of Growth Material - Expansion of Chaos Statue Levels - Introduction of various event stages for Episode and Chaos maps - Changes to the seasonal cycle of some content (3 weeks > 2 weeks) - Expansion of Mastery content to an account-shared system (Needs to be reset after points are given based on the character with the highest Mastery Level) - Expansion of sharing of Titles/Achievements from character to account - Adjustments to the grade of some Materials (Quality Modifications, Traum’s Crystals, Orb Materials) - Removal of normal raids and subdivision of Descent Raid rewards and difficulty levels
