Unloved

Full Version Release!

After one year of Early Access, UNLOVED has now reached a point where I am very satisfied with the games balance, look and gameplay. I want to thank the whole community for all the feedback, suggestions and support they have given me during the Early Access phase. I am very proud of UNLOVED and everyone who helped me make it as awesome as possible, I thank you very much :)

New Weapon: The Railgun
The second heavy weapon in the players arsenal is the most powerful weapon in the game. The Railgun has very high fire power, but has a long delay between shots. The primary fire mode shoots one fat beam of death that deals heavy damage to everything in its path. The secondary fire mode shoots a barrage of lasers that bounce off walls and also deal lots of damage. The high fire power is compensated with limited ammo reserves, so take your shots carefully.

Railgun Preview Video!

https://youtu.be/kz-AR5crSHk

Today I've made a little sneak peek video of the upcoming Railgun! The primary fire mode shoots a fat beam of death that penetrates everything in its path and the secondary fire mode shoots a barrage of shrapnel covered in lasers that deal massive damage!

Enjoy the video and have a great day :)

New Update enables Coop Classic Horror and Arcade Mode!

Mutliplayer has been unlocked for Classic Horror and Arcade Mode! Go into the endless empty hallways of terror with your friends and rediscover the feeling of the good old classic horror games. Or go on a franatic killing spree in the Arcade Mode!

I have also added/improved post processing effects in the games to touch up the visuals a bit more. Some balance improvements based on community feedback have also been added.

The Town!

The fourth area of the game is now playable! The Town was a fan favorite of the mod and I've done my best to recreate the feeling and atmosphere of it to get your blood pumping even more on your visit this time.

The Town comes with 3 new amazing music tracks composed by James Dean!

Also this update features a few fixes and additions that give the game a more rounded feel.

New Balance Update + Town coming SOON!

This weekend I decided to release a smaller balance tweak update. It changes the enemy spawns to make combat more diverse with a wider variety of different enemies that come at you. Also the amount of enemies has been increased slightly to make up for the fact that the Nailgun is rather powerful.

I have some more news for you today. I've decided that I want to release the Town earlier instead of waiting around until the full release. The first reason is that I don't feel it's fair to keep you guys waiting for it and the other reason is to get your feedback of the new location, if you like it or maybe you encounter something that doesn't work with the netcode or anything.

Final Release Date Announcement!

UNLOVED has been in Early Access for a year and it has come a long way. I want to thank the community whole-heartedly for all the suggestions and feedback that made UNLOVED even more bad ass over this time.

The final version of UNLOVED will be released on 29 September!!

For this special occasion, I've prepared a new trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31MEW7_S1Io

Also, you can check out the new UNLOVED website here: www.unloved-thegame.com

Here's what's new in the final version:

The Town! The community favorite location of the Doom2 mod was the spooky outdoor area: The Faded Town. This very misterious place will be the fourth location of UNLOVED and it has a very similar atmosphere to the location of the mod.

And The Railgun! This is the second heavy weapon in the players arsenal, meaning that you cannot start with this weapon and it has to be picked up within the map. This weapon does not have any magazine, but instead gets reloaded with a pump action mechanic between shots. The primary fire mode shoots a high powered particle beam that penetrates every enemy in a straight line with heavy damage. The secondary fire mode shoots plasma shards that scatter like a shotgun but can also bounce off walls.

I will make another dev video to show you the Railgun once the art and sounds are in place.

Until then... mark your calenders, the 29 September is going to be bad ass :)

First Look At The Town!

In this video I show the first few layouts of the new location the Town. I'm very happy about this very atmospheric place. It features new music by James Dean.

Not sure if I make sense in this video, but at least you can take a look at the Town, which is heavily inspired by the Faded City from the mod the game's based on.

I'm also talking a little bit about the fact that the final release on Steam is going to be delayed a bit. I'm currently investigating opportunities to make the internet more aware of the game before it launches. Because this is my last shot at this - after the launch the game might quickly fade away and nobody might notice it even existed. So let's try and make the launch more awesome :D

Upcoming Content: The Town + Railgun!

I'm currently working on the next content that will be added to the game in a few weeks. A fourth location called The Town and the fifth weapon the Railgun!

1) The Town
One community favorite location of the Doom2 mod was the only playable outdoor area: The Faded Town. This very misterious place will be the fourth location of UNLOVED and it has a very similar atmosphere to the location of the mod.

2) The Railgun
This is the second heavy weapon in the players arsenal, meaning that you cannot start with this weapon and it has to be picked up within the map. This weapon does not have any magazine, but instead gets reloaded with a pump action mechanic between shots. The primary fire mode shoots a high powered particle beam that penetrates every enemy in a straight line with heavy damage. The secondary fire mode shoots plasma shards that scatter like a shotgun but can also bounce off walls.

Stay tuned for a gameplay video soonish... :D

Update 0.3.8 is out!

In this rather small update, I've focused on polishing the multiplayer experience. One big focus is giving the player better informations about a game before joining.

Before joining a game, you can now see game details of the host like difficulty, area size, level of the host and map name! This gives you a much better way to decide wether or not the game is suitable for you to join or not.
