BASEMENT UPGRADE RELEASED!

First off: A huge THANK YOU to the community who is giving so much feedback and input for UNLOVED and help me greatly to improve this game! Thank you very much, I love working on this game and it wouldn't be possible without your support! :)

Today the largest Upgrade of UNLOVED has been released: The Basement Upgrade! Here are some of the new features:

:heptagramred: New Area: THE BASEMENT
A new area has been added to the game which is heavily inspired by the original Doom2 Mod. It is the most horrifying location yet. With large underground graveyards and cramped endless corridors, it is the most dangerous of places and therfore not allowed to players below level 13! This new area comes with 4 new music tracks made for UNLOVED by James Dean.

:heptagramred: New Enemy: THE WITCH
The Witch is the most vile creature in UNLOVED so far. She is very fast and deadly. She comes with the ability to summon other Demons to aid her against her enemies in combat. She can also kill you just by looking at you.

:heptagramred: New Trinkets: RANK 3 TRINKETS
When you play on Beast Mode difficulty, there is now a Demon Lockbox that spawns in the level. Once you unlock it and complete the map, you get a Demon Chest. This chest can be unlocked to reveal one of 25 Rank 3 Trinkets. These Trinkets are the most powerful in the game and have more variety on their stats to give more flexibility for specific builds. Rank 3 are the only Trinkets that can have a maximum level of 7.

:heptagramred: New Feature: Enemy Infighting
Demons are wild and chaotic beings. Their evil nature will now also cause them to attack each other if a fireball happens to hit another Demon. However, Witches will never be targeted by other Demons, except there is nothing else to fight anymore.

:heptagramred: Overhauled Game Pacing
The pacing of the game has been rebalanced to be more curve-like and dramatic. In the beginning, enemy spawns are lower than before - and the more you progress through the map, enemy spawns will increase. This gives a much more intense overall gameplay and gives a better feel of progression throughout a map.

And many, many more upgrades, fixes and tweaks...

Price policy changed!

From now on, the price of UNLOVED has been reduced back to its original value and it will stay down, even when the full (non Early Access) version launches!

When I released the game in Early Access, I thought it would be fair to increase the price over time as new content gets added to the game to represent this added value. But I feel that ultimately this might not be the best course to grow a community for a multiplayer game - as a higher price might scare potential players rather than welcome everyone on board no matter when they find out about the game.

So from now on UNLOVED's price has been reduced back to the initial launch price and it will stay that way :)

New Feature: Monster Infighting!

Another new feature in the Basement upgrade that I want to show you in a video is Monster Infighting (video below)! This is one of the most requested features by the community and now it's here :)

What this means is that enemies are now more aggressive - even towards each other! If an enemy hits another enemy by accident, this enemy will now retaliate and they will start to fight each other! Right now this feature is undergoing heavy testing to see if it keeps the balance of the game in tact or if I need to adjust things - or maybe if nobody likes it I have to take it out again.

Let me know what you think :)

Basement Preview

Today I wanna show you a little sneak peek of what you can expect from the Basement upgrade that will be released in March. The full upgrade comes with around 10 new room layouts, the new Witch enemy and a set of 3 new music tracks made for UNLOVED by James Dean.

Updated Spawn Mechanics and more...

In the recent update, I've added a new feature to the enemy spawn system to make it feel much more "designed". Whenever enemies spawn, there is now a chance that the game will spawn a whole group of enemies at the same place, instead of just spawning one individual enemy and then spawn the next one some place else.

This adds two new layers to the enemy encounters.

1. Enemy encounters feel much more "designed". Every enemy group is hand picked and has enemies that compliment eachother. Sometimes a group can consist of just three Cutters or two Butchers. Some other groups are mixed of different enemy types, for example two Nurses and a Doctor. This greatly increases the chance of opening a door, just to see a whole room filled with Cutters... or Clowns.

2. Certain enemy types are now much more dangerous, because they can come in great numbers at once, instead of being spread all over the map. Having a group of 10 Cutters chase you down can easily cause you a quick death, making even the weakest opponents much more dangerous now.

Besides the enemy spawn changes, the new update also comes with improvements to the player model, animation changes and much more.

Tell me what you think :)

Coming Soon: The Basement!

A new location will be revealed soon - THE BASEMENT!

This iconic area from the original Unloved Doom2 mod will come as a reimagined version full of rotten corpses, underground graveyards, coffins and a new enemy... the Witch!

The Witch is a horrifying demonic creature that lurks in the shadows. She can kill you with her stare alone, which will bury a curse deep inside your soul. Only if you kill her first can you survive.

March 2016 is the month of the Witch... be prepared...

New Update: The FACELESS is unleashed!!

What the recent update brings (among other various additions and fixes):
New Enemy: The Faceless
A new enemy has entered the realm of UNLOVED! This demon is a huge monster that will barrage you with fireballs. It has only one goal: to consume your flesh and wear your skin! It comes with an alternate version which is the Soulless - a forsaken monstrosity that can take a ton of damage and is also deadly in close combat!

New Gamemode: Arcade Style
In this new game mode, you can instantly pick up objects and the fast paced action of the original game mode is made even faster. Only those with lightning fast reflexes have a chance to survive the increased hordes of enemies. This mode is currently for testing purposes only playable in single player, so let me know what you think :)

Listening to more Community Feedback

Another update has just been released with more stuff that was added because of feedback from the community. Thank you very much for your support :)

I'm still working on the game to get it as polished as possible. In this new update, more netcode optimizations have made it into the game, giving a smoother experience and reduced lag and bandwidth.

There is now another Pistol skin in the game. You can see it when you equip the Tactical Pistol Mod in your Trinket menu. It felt a bit unfair to give the Magnum mod its own skin but not the Tactical, so here you go ;)

Also I've added more Trinkets and Totems that give you more interesting things to collect and put to good use to create your own unique play-style.

Oh yeah and did I mention that I improved the Blood visuals? Happy hunting :unlovedpistol::unlovedcutter:

Magnum Power + Netcode improvements

In the recent update, I've gone through more community suggetions to improve the game and add a new layer of polish.

First off, there is now a new silver look to the Pistol after you equip the Magnum Mod. The Magnum Mod also has a different way of calculating damage than before. Now, the Magnum damage gets applied seperately of any other damage mod, meaning that every additional damage increases the already very high Magnum damage, giving you greater benefits.

Also if you join a multiplayer game now, you will be spawned at the location of the host instead of the normal starting room. This gives you lots of advantages and also lets new players instantly join the fun instead of run around to find the host and in the worst case get killed on the way.

Additionally I've updated the netcode and improved bandwidth usage to give you all a smoother experience :)

Update adds new Clinic Roomlayout

Happy New Year to everyone :)
To kick this year off, we're starting with an update that adds a new Clinic room layout and a few other things. The new layout is slightly smaller compared to the other layouts of the Clinic to reduce the average room amount for a Clinic run. I'll add a few more of these more simple layouts to make Clinic runs less complex and more in line with Apartment layouts.

Also I've added Pistol Magnum sounds that will replace the normal weapon sounds once you equip the Magnum trinket - to make it more satisfying to blast enemies across the room ;)

There's now also screen resolution scaling, which is very helpful to tweak your performance without reducing your resolution.
