Explore crafting and gathering in Villagers & Heroes!

Looking for an MMO that features a vast, multi-layered crafting system in which players can transform the natural resources gathered from a fantastical world into dazzling armor, exquisite weaponry, magical potions, and so much more? Then welcome to V&H – where crafters thrive right alongside the adventurers!

Gathering!

Collect an endless array of natural resources from countless exotic locations throughout the Seven Realms!

Fish the tranquil ponds of Crawson’s Fen, or wield a rustic pick-axe and mine for copper in majestic Dundeen Quarry. Wander the tropical beaches of Traven in search of elusive insect ingredients, or explore the dense forests of Greenhaven, where the heartiest of timber can be felled.

Crafting!

Take that mighty timber felled and find the nearest lathe, because carpentry awaits! As does blacksmithing, cooking, and tailoring!

Forge luminous metals upon a fiery anvil and craft devastating swords, or spin exotic wool into a magically potent ice wizard’s robe. Labor over a boiling cauldron and brew enchanted potions, or whittle the finest Shadow priest’s mace in the realm! Experience the satisfaction of crafting your own gear, while perhaps even becoming an entrepreneur – trade your crafted goods with friends, or sell them in the Auction House for gold.

Gnomish Gnogmentation!

The truly unique feature of ‘gnogmenting’ allows players to design and create their own gear by combining the different attributes of weapons and armor into a one-of-a kind item, tailor-made to fit their own individual needs. And with currently 78 levels in the game, the possibilities of combinations to choose from are virtually endless! Use skill and savvy to craft the ultimate gear, and cut a dashing figure in the process!

The multi-tiered crafting system in Villagers & Heroes is both challenging and rewarding, and will provide players with endless hours of enjoyment! So what are you waiting for? Get crafting now!

Get to know Ethos Island!

A large update to V&H has just been released – apart from new features and bug fixes, it also brings an overhaul of our starter area! Explore 7 distinct zones, each with their own locations, quests and secrets to be found!

Gilly Tunnel

Though it colorfully sparkles with pleasing magic and is the shortest route to Summer’s Hollow, Gilly’s Tunnel is no longer to be trusted for it now teems with twisted Kobolds, whose favorite pastime is that of deadly mayhem.
This is where you enter the game. After a caravan journey gone wrong, you will have to find a way out of this Kobold-infested cavern – and in doing so, learning the basics of how to play Villagers & Heroes.

Summer's Hollow

This bustling little town, where trade and commerce abound, is a colorful mecca for merchants and revelers alike, and is the lively heart of the region especially during festival time, when travelers far and wide flock here to partake of the many merriments provided..
The busy hub of Ethos Island! In Summer’s Hollow you will find quest-givers, vendors, crafting stations, fellow players, and much more. Here is also where the main quest line starts to unfold…

Dagmar Strand

These golden meadows where turning windmills and expansive farmlands abound, are home to luscious vineyards, well-stocked fishing ponds, and more than a few hungry wolves and deadly bees, who are prone to lurk in the radiant fields.
The largest zone of Ethos Island, Dagmar Strand is expansive and filled with areas to explore! Many places to gather resources can be found here, as well as entrances to the Marigold Marina and Briny Caverns.

Gandymeade Grove

This delightful haven of twinkling trees and soft grassy knolls is the idyllic retreat for busy townspeople, picnic baskets in hand, in search of a serene getaway. Be careful though, of the notorious Troll Camp. These unseemly beasts enjoy, too, the many pleasures of the enchanting grove.
The lush grove of Gandymeade contains the largest mine on Ethos Island, and ample supplies of wood. Beware though, as the ancient castle of Mallok is also located deep in the woods…

Marigold Marina

Named so for its beautiful floating gardens, which are famous throughout the land, the marina is also known for its rambunctious nightlife, where those with a taste for gambling and mead will always find their thirsts well-tended to.
The Marigold Marina holds the only way off Ethos Island and into Ardent City, the massive capital of Ardent.

Briny Caverns

A watery labyrinth of twisting tunnels, and sparkling caves. Greenery abounds, as does magic, both benign and dreadful.
These caverns hold many secrets, and are well worth exploring! Rumors have it that an old enemy also have made their home here…

Cronk Island

This diseased island of rotted earth and blackened soil is a haven for outcasts, or those who wish only to be left alone. It lures foul creatures with twisted yearnings whose dark needs are rarely met.
Cronk Island is accessible from Summer’s Hollow, and will play an important role in events to be unfolded…

Patch 3.15.18

Hello, Everyone! We have a rather large new build for you all. Sugarsweet Summit is gone, but in its place you will find a great many bug fixes and improvements to the game in general. We have also done a massive overhaul on the tutorial zones, one which new and rebirthed players alike are sure to find, we believe, to their liking. And last but not least, we have implemented a new bug tracking software system into this build, which will benefit us all greatly from here on out! Please visit our forums to learn more about it, and all about our new, 'no-more-reporting-bugs-on-the-forums' policy. (https://forum.villagersandheroes.com/showthread.php?12847-New-Bug-Reporting-System)

IMPROVEMENTS
<*>In-game bug reports can now take screenshots! Press: 'CTRL-ALT-B'
<*>Bidders in the Auction House are now listed as being anonymous
<*>House License requirement has been removed
<*>Improved the animation of monsters so that they no longer appear to be ‘sliding.’
<*>Removed the Vim Invitational Rune
<*>The animation for Pyrrus Golems attack is a little bit faster, but their damage was lowered.
<*> No trade items can now be sold to vendors (e.g. Rings from Maldwyn's Tomb).
<*> A lot of toys and spells that involved things moving along or settling on the ground will now work even if you aren't on 'terrain' (for example, the streets of Ardent and a campfire).
<*>We have removed the old and deprecated "Superior Glittershade Pig" from the game.
<*>Players now get Grubella's eyeballs from a different source (no longer Grimbad who would only drop 1, which was a problem when more than 1 player was in a group).
<*>Removed some bounty master achievements for early zones and small zones.
<*>Elderbane and Elder Garde now have normal descriptions that will be localized (no more mention of the Rift).
<*>The buggy and broken "hunter / seeker' achievements have been removed from the game.
<*> Traven crafting recipes now marked as quest items to make sorting easier in Knowledge book
<*> Made it so when you hit the 'resurrect' or 'revive' button after death, the opposite button vanishes. This prevents players from accidentally clicking both during a lag spike, and possibly using a voltan's resurrect with no effect.
<*> Made a tweak to the quest "Eyes on the Prize" where you can't turn in the imperial documents if you are not on the quest, "Eyes on the Prize". (You still may be able to get the documents early if another player in your party has the quest and you don't, but you won't be able to turn them in until after having received the quest).
<*>Made a change so lower level enemies have less armor that scales up to be normal starting at level 11.
<*>Removed the Kingsport Insulter Achievement (it was buggy)
<*> We did a lighting pass on all of the zones in the game. (HDR has been removed.)
<*>Sugarsweet Summit has been removed
<*>A new Starter zone, 'Gilly Tunnel,' has been added
<*>Tutorial Zones (Ethos, Lower Ethos, Summer's Hollow, Cronk Island) received an overhaul:
<*>Cronk Island now has a portal in Summer’s hollow, and can no longer be accessed via Lower Ethos
<*>Player now enters game in a central location within Summer’s Hollow
<*>Summer’s Hollow, Gandymeade Grove, and Marigold Marina are now separate zones with portals instead of Lower Ethos and Ethos on map. (The blue line boundary has been removed.)
<*>Dagmar’s Strand (an area formally part of Lower Ethos) is now its own zone
<*>Summer’s Hollow has been ‘thinned out’ – fewer NPCs, quests, and objects.
<*>A Portal to Villages has been added to Summer's Hollow
<*>Some NPC’s in the tutorial zones have been moved to make quests simpler. Some NPCs have been removed altogether
<*>All of the main quests within The Mystery of the Malicious Miscreant have had alterations made to them to improve ease of quest flow
<*>Quest markers on the map have been streamlined for clarity
<*>The World Map has been updated
<*>Some quests have been removed, some quests have been added to help players through the new portals.
<*>Some quest items have been removed

ITEM SHOP IMPROVEMENTS
<*>We have removed the old experience potions from the shop. These potions lasted either 30 days or 1 day, boosted xp gains by 50%, but did not stack with Ardent Society Memberships. Any player who still has any amount of these item will keep them and they will still function just as before (the only difference being they will no longer be available in the shop).
<*>New Items: Heroic Experience Booster and Villager Experience Booster. Both of these potions last for 3 days (perfect for a weekend), provide 50% experience boost (the same as the 'old' version), but DO stack with Ardent Society memberships.
<*>We have replaced The Vanguard's Pack in the item shop with a new starter pack, called The Vanguard Pack. This pack sells for 140 crowns, and contains the following items:
<*>Black Explorer’s Outfit
<*>Black Explorer’s Gloves
<*>Black Exploer’s Boots
<*>Black Explorer’s Mining Cap
<*> 4th Bag
<*>Rainbow Winged Hat

<*>Weekend Villager Potion

BUG FIXES
<*>Fixed: Location of friends shows as a % sign
<*>Fixed: Quests sometimes vanish from journals
<*>Fixed: Gardening plots flash like strobe lights
<*>Fixed: Village icon in menu is now only shown if players own a house in a village, and the icon doesn't constantly flash anymore.
<*>Fixed: Sound in Zombie Town is excessively loud
<*>Fixed: Quest Pay Out Collection. (Now progresses successfully)
<*>Fixed: Mushmonsters should be called by name
<*>Fixed: To Be Brilliant Quest (it will now update successfully)
<*>Fixed: Typo in Spider Hold quest
<*>Fixed: Lake Kiwa fishing hole #16 is bugged
<*>Fixed: Two fishing holes in Lake Kiwa are too far from land
<*>Fixed: Tiny adjustment made to livestock tooltip.
<*>Fixed: a bug that could, on certain computers and configurations, cause verify assets to happen too often.
<*>Fixed: Endless looping dialogue with Constable Dugan
<*>Fixed: Duke Reynaldo would sometimes get stuck and would prohibit progression of the Malicious Miscreant quest.
<*>Fixed: Mutagen's instant kill attack. (Mutagen is now very resistant to immobilizing effects - such as slows - that cause her AOE to break. To compensate she now has a little less health regen, does a little less damage, and casts her AOE slam every 40 seconds instead of every 30.)
<*>Fixed: hole in the wall in Daggertooth Kennel
<*>Fixed: Pertinent mining rocks missing in Fossilized forest
<*>Fixed: Hen's Eggs need to be sold by a vendor. (They are now sold by the Harvest Vendor.)
<*>Fixed: Blackfury Gorge level needs to match player level. (It is now a level 79 zone.)
<*>Fixed: Sort selected bag button covers bag 5 and 6
<*>Fixed: Bounty level rewards xp inconsistent
<*>Fixed: first Sword Storm blow makes no sound
<*>Fixed: a location in Saphira's Lament causing players to get stuck
<*>Fixed: Bounty Cione Draock respawns in unmanageable places
<*>Fixed: Simplified Craggej mood scripts a bit, also fixing a bug that made them easy to kill by magic effects and wizards.
<*>Fixed: Rotburgas Wardens are now normal attacking minions. They will attack the players after they are summoned. You still need to kill them to defeat Rotburga. They will no longer go aegis and bug out.
<*>Fixed: NPC Hesse is looking for bugs underground.
<*>Fixed: a case where if the player was delivering pamphlets before they help Goran he could get in a weird state (now you have to help Goran first).
<*>Fixed: a case where players could pre-trigger the statues for Shiverstead Founders, which could sometimes bug the quest.
<*>Fixed: Beginning of the End quest wrongly instructs players to Sanctorium in last step
<*>Fixed: The quests, 'Prefavors for Patrocolus' and 'Golden Quills for the Gifted Chicken' had some bad logic that made completing (and accepting) these quests a challenge. They have been fixed.
<*>Fixed: 'Daggertooth Likes' quest wrongly tracks on World Map near Auctioneer in Ardent City
<*>Fixed: an issue in which purchased items were not actually purchased, but were displayed as a zero quantity in item shop bags, which then would disappear when players would move to inventory, making it seem as though purchased items had vanished. (Even though the items had not actually been purchased.)
<*>Fixed: HUD icons would not flash upon first entering a zone. (For example, the mail icon would not flash to alert off-line players when they come back into the game that they had received mail.)
<*>Fixed: Shadow Vega has a missing ocean
<*>Fixed: Not enough Naids in the Copse (We lowered the amount of kills needed for the daily 'Copse Patrol' from 7 to 5)
<*>Fixed: Not enough zombies in Cronk to complete quest (We changed the amount of Fetid Mold needed from 4 to 2)
<*>Fixed: Webbing attack not slowing players as it should
<*>Fixed: Got stuck in a crevice after defeating Donalda
<*>Fixed: Luck Card graphics would get successively more cut off as used
<*>Fixed: Clicking on dungeon gate in Ardent Castle causes toon to spin erratically
<*>Fixed: Old quests still show after rebirthing, though relogging clears
<*>Fixed: Lake Kiwa has Incorrect Icons on Map for Wood Trees (Should Be Fruit)
<*>Fixed: You are at 510 359 83 in The Crystal Spire stuck in hole
<*>Fixed: You are at -369 -205 147 in The Crystal Spire hole that you cant get out of
<*>Fixed: flying bone parts in air instead of floor
<*>Fixed: typo in moonglade quest
<*>Fixed: You are at -60 41 103 in Vinton. Can only fish from the lvl 7 fishing spot from the water, not from the shore.
<*>Fixed: schwarzwut schlucht -53 118 21, zuerst schwebte hier eine steinspinne, dann sogar ich in der luft (location causes toon and spider to float)
<*>Fixed: A Location In Vega Causes Toon, Flowers, and Monster To Become Invisible
