Hi again friends! I just wanted to give a shout here for anyone who's having an issue with their controls. Specificaly if they stop working after going to the Character Menu. It seems to happen if you go there from the Map through the pause menu. So until Im able to do a bug fix (ASAP after getting back from Christmas holiday!), just go there from the button in the bottom right hand corner OR by just tapping 'C' :)

Sorry for any confusion, super random! But a big shoutout to @CaoLex for finding this nasty bug ːsteamhappyː

GIFWIKI + Chillycheek Peak! - 0.0.13v1 (Holiday Special)




Well, this update was originally just supposed to have the GIFWIKI, but then I started working on the Holiday Update... which started to get umm... a little crazy. Lets just say there's snowboards in the game right now... they're slightly wonky, and sound like boats still, but they're kinda fun! :P I just wanted to try out something different :D

GIFWIKI


Introducing the GIFWIKI! A place you can go for a refresher on how to do certain things in the game :) I've got the basics added, but will slowly be adding in things. Let me know if there's a certain topic you think should be in there! :D shoutout to @eapple who got me rolling again on tutorial stuff!



Speaking of tutorial stuff...


Jerry's Gate is now longer and includes a little Stealth Tutorial section as well. I added these handy little '?' hotlinks in the bottom corners, click on them to check out a swanky GIF! :P



Chillycheek Peak


A mysterious island has appeared to the West of Waterbones Oupost! It appears to have candy canes in it and look slightly mountainous.



Snowboards?!


Even a couple others to try out ;) they're a little wonky (and still sound like boats) but let me know what you think :D







Tutorial GIFWIKI Buttons!


Now when playing the tutorial you can click on the little '?' in the corner to get some more info!

Elder Barrow Gate + Shield Units! - 0.0.12v1



Elder Barrow Gate


Introducing the Elder Barrow Gate. Once known as just the 'Elder Gate' when it was a thriving merchant destination between the lowlands and the mountains. It was a hotly contested location during the War, with so many Warlings lost that the barrows were constructed. It is said that spirits from that time still haunt the land, and the undead roam the night.





Alrighty friends! I started reading Lord of the Rings again, so enjoy a location inspired by the Barrow Downs ;) but really, I've been having a blast working on some super cool new areas and mechanics as well as continuing to work on the City Siege to come :D I know it'll be a busy next few weeks but I'm hoping to get out a few updates before the holidays! Also, the arena is broken right now, I'm fixing it up as we speak and will have it up in just a couple days hopefully :)

Battle Cam after death


After you die in a battle or castle battle, your units will keep fighting! Use WSAD to move the camera around a bit :) (making a button soon to speed up time!)



Shield Units/Warbandit


Introducing the Warbandit, a stronger but slower enemy who fights using a shield. Also, Warling Knights now have shields too!





Camera Culling


I'm experimenting with camera culling in the new location, which hides things that the camera doesn't see :) this location is actually pretty big, but I'm excited to see if it helps anyone on a lower spec system at all :D



New Water


It's pretty! That is all!



Squad Follows by Default


Big thanks to @Vortex for letting me know about this! Now when entering a location where a squad is allowed, they'll follow you by default.



Torchable Things!


Now certain props can be lit by the torch! Oh... and there's torches now! :P



Coin Purse!


You can now throw your money at people! Though bandits don't seem to care much... this is a default item. EVERYONE should now have it in their inventories :)

Army Ally Upgrades! - 0.0.11v2 (and balancing!)

Here's a quick hotfix that *hopefully* fixes any map issues people were having, as well as balances out troop upgrading. But be sure to let me know if you have any ideas for balancing :)

Wanted to let everyone know I'm rolling back the last update (0.0.11v1) to (0.0.10v4). Just found out today there's a pretty bad bug causing Outposts to not be able to be taken over. Huge shoutout to @Eapple for letting me know! I'm super sorry about that friends xD

Good news is though! I'm rolling out the Beta branch to have version (0.0.11v1) for those of you who have already taken over the outposts and want to keep playing with Unit upgrading.

Army Ally Upgrades! - 0.0.11v1





Unit Upgrading!


I hope your army of peasants is finally ready to GET UPGRADED! :D as you fight your units will gain experience, then just pop into your character screen while on the map to upgrade them! Also, definitely let me know about any SUPER obvious balancing issues with this... like if it takes too long, or certain units feel too weak/strong etc :) Currently they only get experience when THEY fight, so definitely open to changing that :D


Been a busy past couple weeks :D Especially leading up to this! (it's about 4:30 am for me right now...) Getting ready to go see some family for U.S. Thanksgiving :D But I'm really happy with how things have been going so far, I've also been working on blocking in some location upgrades which *should* be ready for the next update :)

Just wanted to give you guys fair warning that in the next update, which I plan to launch on 11/20/2017 will add a peasant population cap to the Siege Camp at Old Home Castle.

So if you have amassed a HYYUUUGE army (I'm looking at you @Myriad453) be sure to transfer them to an Outpost garrison if you want to keep them!

And if you haven't, or you're not sure what any of this means, you're probably fine and no worries :D

Castle Battles! - 0.0.10v2









Castle Battles!



Okay so it's not a full on castle siege yet, still a LOT to do for those ;) but it's a start to them because I really want to hear your feedback! :D Introducing 'Debug Castle' :D The very first full on army castle battle! PROTIP: If you want to play it over again click the 'Reset Location' button on location menu, and it'll repopulate it with a random-ish amount of enemies :)


Sorry for going so quiet on the forum and Discord this past week :D just been concentrating REALLY hard on Warcube and being able to take some big steps forward :) I'm just so excited to see things like armies and castle battles start to come together. So let me know what you think so far! ːsteamhappyː Also, what do you think of these new spiffy header's I made for the update log? Kinda fun, right? :D

Armies & Garrisons! - 0.0.10v1



Army and Garrisons!


Unit's from owned Outposts walk to the Siege Camp where you can now withdraw/deposit them! You can also store them in Garrisons (outposts/castles) for later use :) in addition, your personal army will now trail behind you on the map! (ignore them going through the ground, still working on that ;))

Dev Update


BOOM! Little did you guys know that Warcube has been broken for the past week and half on my computer while I rework a whole BUNCH of things in the game that I haven't touched for almost a year :) it was actually pretty scary, but now it's (hopefully) all back in working order, with some pretty cool improvements :D I hope that you're able to see the direction things are going, and that it gets you excited! Certain locations can now store units, you can raise a personal army (although mostly just peasants right now) and there's even enemy variance on the map. Things are getting super exciting :D

And while we're talking about tips, there's now tooltips!


Been a long time coming! Ask @TheHardew, who's been waiting patiently to know what all the equipment icons mean :P



You can also now hotswap your weapon hands with alt + s


You might need to clear you key bindings for this one to work, but this is a handy little thing to do! Suggested by @Noobdytroyer! :D and if you like the view of that GIF, try toggling the Brawlcam with 'R'!



So go forth with thy peasant army! Conquer the... er... land?


I'm working on adding more units :P but have fun with the peasants while you can! Rumor has it there's now a LARGE bandit army across the river and causing trouble...



Lastly, I just want to show off this AWESOME lego recreation that @Snipertoaster put together!


This gave me the biggest smile, love seeing the mohawks on the enemies and that one of the units got a nemesis banner! :D
