We Slay Monsters

0.9.40,3 Patch: Bug Fixes & Features

Just uploaded a patch with some bug fixes & new feature!

New Features

  • The new equipment screen has been re-worked to better show pertinent information about your Hero's stats and the difference between the new and old item.
  • Running at 1600 x 1080 or greater resolutions will now use 2x size sprites, making everything not be so small.
  • Added final boss music for the epic final battle

Bug Fixes

  • Pots Golem now has a sound
  • Miners & Workers won't give a null reference exception when trying to view their character sheet.
  • Sometimes tooltips would misbehave when attacking monsters (they wouldn't go away)
  • Some monster names were too big for the Zoology display; the screen has been reformatted a bit so everything fits
  • Spike golems now have a character sheet image, instead of getting an error
  • Fixed some z-index problems with fully upgraded academy buildings
  • Acquiring items while disguised will no longer show the item on top of your disguise
  • If you exit the game while standing on a door you just opened, the opening sound will no longer play when re-loading that game

Balance Changes

  • Monsters that ooze slime are all now immune to said slime

Working on New Item Screen

Many people have asked for it, and I finally got around to it. Here's the new item screen, giving you a better idea how the equipment will effect your Hero's stats:

This will be in a patch I intend to put out in the next few days, likely the last patch until 1.0, which will go live on next Thursday the 22nd, when we release out of EA.

0.9.40.1 Bug Fix Patch!

Just pushed out a small patch. The warrior's Call To Arms ability was completely FUBARed by changes I made :(

All fixed now though!

I also fixed something else I saw that probably no one will notice, so I'm not even going to go into any detail.

Update #40 "Ravenous Raven" Now Live!

Update #40 is now live on Steam! This is our penultimate release before 1.0, which we’re currently scheduled to release on June 22nd (assuming no massive, game breaking bugs are found between now and then).

With "Ravenous Raven”, we are feature complete for our 1.0 launch. We will be focusing on bugs and balance issues between now and launch, and there may also be a bit of polish added as well (touching up animations, changing some of the campaign wording, etc).

We have been in early access for a long time, and we appreciate all of the great feedback and ideas we have gotten from the community during this time. We look forward to getting 1.0 out the door!

Enough gabbing, here’s the release notes for this release:

Balance Changes:

UI Tweaks:

Shufflin' Shufflin'

Finally got around to adding a shuffle animation! You’d think that would be one of the first things you do in a card-based game. We like to do things the hard way :)

Coming soon with the penultimate release before 1.0!

Preview of new features!

One of the last new features I’m working on is adding special effects when you deal certain cards. As of now, I’m done with two of them. Here’s what they look like.

Lucky 7s: When you are dealt a card with a face value of 7, you get 7 gold!

Takes 3 to make <3: When you are dealt a card with a face value of 3, you heal 3 Health.

Changes To Leaderboards in Next Update!

Just a heads up for everyone. I'm working on one of the last major features for the game: Weekly Challenge Dungeons.

These dungeons will give everyone a chance to play with the exact same dungeon, with the exact same monsters, in a competition to see how many points you can get.

This is an answer to the current leaderboards, which aren't really "fair". Comparing your score as a wizard to another player has too many variables. But, if you can play the same dungeon with the same characters, it's a lot more "fair".

When we push the new update out, the existing leaderboards will be removed, to be replaced by the new weekly leaderboard.

We're aiming to have this update done in the next few weeks. It will be the last update before our 1.0 release, which we're targeting for 6/22.

0.9.39.3 Hotfix

Fixes two small bugs:

  • After the shoppe is destroyed by the golems, it was still possible to visit the shop before a mission.
  • While visiting the shop, if you put on a hat (as a rogue or warrior), and then took the hat back off, your hero's hair wouldn't come back.

0.9.39.2 Hotfix

Arena missions (when you get to them) were broken.

Now they aren't.

0.9.39.1 Live Now

Update 39 is back live again; graphic glitch should be fixed!
